Noida-based travel tech startup The Tarzan Way has raised ₹2 crore (around $233,000) in a seed funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV). The round also included participation from Your Trips Limited (based in the UK), Prateek Maheshwari (founder of PhysicsWallah), and multiple angel investors.
Founded by Shikhar Chadha and Shivank Tripathi in 2020, The Tarzan Way is an AI-based platform centered all around easier and personalized travel planning. Utilizing artificial intelligence, the startup helps travelers create custom travel plans in an efficient way. This service essentially reduces the amount of time users spend researching and booking travel from hours to seconds by creating a personalized travel itinerary.
The startup plans to launch a mobile app called the “Exploration App.” This app will help users do a better job of planning travel by offering an AI-powered booking engine, a streamlined one-click booking process, and 24/7 concierge service. Based upon the features and offerings integrated into the app, The Tarzan Way believes it will simplify the entire travel experience. The entire experience includes planning your trip, booking your trip and supporting them while traveling.
The funds will be allocated to a few key areas. About 35% of the round will be directed into product improvement and development, 25% into operations, 20% into marketing, 15% into staffing and administrative skills, and 5% into everything else.
Since its launch, The Tarzan Way has experienced considerable growth. The firm produced a gross booking value of ₹13.5 crore and reported a year-on-year increase in revenue of 300%. It reported a 70% month-on-month increase in users, demonstrating significant momentum. The startup has solidified its social media presence, generating over 35,000 followers and received more than 10,000,000 views on travel-related content.
