The executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals said on Shark Tank India that she criticizes toxic behavior and refuses to join the uneducated crowd that applauds dishonest people.

Shark Tank India investor and Emcure Pharmaceuticals Executive Director Namita Thapar said she has no regrets for not investing in a competing start-up on the show, despite much controversy and criticism. She mentioned being a shark, which doesn’t mean they can’t have independent principles and speak openly. Sharks are the investors on the show.

The executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals stated in the same tweet that she speaks out poisonous behavior and refuses to join the uninformed individuals who applaud those who lack moral character.

“Being a shark doesn’t mean we aren’t entitled to our autonomous beliefs and speaking truthfully, so if I don’t invest in a fellow shark’s competition, that’s me, no regrets. If I call out toxicity and don’t join the uninformed that praise people with a lack of integrity…,” Thapar wrote in a tweet. That is me: Who is the target of the poisonous comment? The phrase “Samajhdar ko ishara kaafi”

Anant Ladha, a chartered accountant and YouTuber, asked: “Is it okay to reject a new, innovative company merely because it is a competitor of a shark? Ashneer Grover’s blunt honesty was, in my opinion, necessary here.

Another person stated that the selection of pitches for the show needs to be more transparent. The user said, “Then you need to alter the show’s format… Invite no pitches that will directly compete with any of the sharks. because this runs counter to the program’s purpose. You people are merely defending one another’s interests by eradicating potential rivals.

I respect Namita (don’t particularly like her as a shark, but that’s my personal view) and I absolutely agree with her here, wrote another commenter who supported Thapar. People would probably continue to claim that she didn’t invest because Vinita is her friend even if she presented any other justification, I’m pretty sure. She was honest, at least. People who claim that it doesn’t occur in the US version of Shark Tank, to Mr. Wonderful ko tu jaa ke wohi dekh.

Because Thapar and co-founder of SUGAR Cosmetics Vineeta Singh chose not to invest in the beauty company Recode, they faced criticism from online users. Sharks were intrigued by the pitch of the brand’s creators, Rahul Sachdeva and Dheeraj Bansal, however they declined to invest due to a conflict of interest.
