Adani Energy Solutions Ltd has announced the successful commissioning of the Karur Transmission Ltd (KTL) project in the Tamil Nadu state. This critical project includes the building of the 400/230 kV, 1000 MVA Karur Pooling Station, as well as an accompanying transmission line stretching 8.51 circuit kilometers (CKM) throughout the state.

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd announced the completion of the Karur Transmission Ltd (KTL) project in Tamil Nadu on Friday. The project comprises the construction of the 400/230 kV, 1000 MVA Karur Pooling Station and an accompanying transmission line in the state extending 8.51 circuit kilometers (CKM).

This project, with a transformation capacity of 1,000 MVA, is planned to ease the evacuation of electricity generated by renewable sources in the Karur/Tiruppur Wind Energy Zone. Furthermore, it is anticipated to improve the Southern Regional grid and facilitate the large-scale integration of renewable energy sources.

“The Karur/Tiruppur Wind Energy Zone is a key wind corridor in Tamil Nadu, with significant wind energy capacities and several wind farms under construction.”

This project was awarded to AESL to facilitate the seamless evacuation of up to 2500 MW of green electricity generated in the region. This project is in line with India’s decarbonization plans, helping the government reach its target of 500 GW of green energy by 2030. “It will improve access to reliable and clean energy for industrial, commercial, and residential consumers,” the business stated in a statement.

AESL won this project under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process in December 2021 for a 35-year term that includes build, own, operate, and maintain.

According to AESL, the project was completed on time while taking into account topological obstacles and reducing environmental effect.

In addition, the business executed crucial activities such as shutting down the 400 kV D/C Pugalur-Pugalur (HVDC) line and erecting tower structures within the restrictions of the existing transmission line.

“The completion of the KTL project cements AESL’s position as India’s leading power transmission company.” “AESL has a portfolio of operational transmission projects as well as several others in various stages of construction,” according to the business.

Adani Energy Solutions (previously Adani Transmission Limited) announced on Friday that it has acquired 100% of the equity shares of Sangod Transmission Service Limited (“STSL”) from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited.

The proposal was adopted by the Company’s committee of the Board of Directors at its meeting on October 6, 2023, which began at 4 p.m. and ended at 5.00 p.m., according to the announcement.
