This year, a new prize category has been established for the country’s hilly and north-east regions.

On January 16, 2023, Piyush Goyal, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles, will facilitate the National Startup Awards 2022, along with a Rs 5 lakh cash award, in the presence of Som Parkash, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry.

This year, a new prize category has been established for the country’s mountainous and north-eastern regions.

In addition, one outstanding Incubator and one Accelerator title winner would each earn Rs 15 lakh in cash.

Goyal will also unveil the MAARG platform (Mentorship, Advisory, Assistance, Resilience, and Growth) at the event, which will promote mentorship between startups and entrepreneurs across sectors, stages, and functions. The portal’s matching phase, which will be introduced on the occasion, is planned to connect companies with mentors and discuss their mentorship needs.

The National Startup Awards’ third edition will honor entrepreneurs and enablers who have showed extraordinary skills not only monetarily but also in terms of verifiable social impact.

Winning and finalist firms will not only receive help for their business growth, mentorship, investment, collaborations, and market access opportunities, but they will also serve as role models for future entrepreneurs. Each winning firm will also receive a Rs 5 lakh cash reward.

This year, a new category was created to recognize the work of startups in India’s hilly and northeastern regions. Aside from this area, there are additional categories for female-led entrepreneurs, startups aiming for rural impact, firms delivering material in Indian languages, startups wanting to replace imports, and startups focusing on COVID-19 pandemic-related ideas.

The National Startup Awards 2022 invited applications from 17 industries and 50 subsectors. Construction, drinking water, education and skill development, energy, enterprise technology, environment, fintech, food processing, health & wellness, media and entertainment, Industry 4.0, security, space, transportation, and travel were all included, in addition to agriculture and animal husbandry.

367 startups have been recognized as winners and finalists in the National Startup Awards 2020 and 2021, and they will be assisted in growing their businesses and making a big impact across the country and around the world.
