A Landmark Addition to Dubai’s Skyline
In Dubai is set to open one of its most iconic real estate ventures ever: the Trump International Hotel and Tower Dubai. The development will be located at the entrance into Downtown Dubai on the busy Sheikh Zayed Road. This ultimate luxury development will have four-bedroom penthouses starting at Dh70 million, thus raising the standards for ultra-modern living.
Strategic Scheduling and International Attention
The inauguration comes at the backdrop of American President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to the UAE and Saudi Arabia, making this unveiling rather diplomatic in nature. It also follows the unveiling of Trump Tower Jeddah, cementing further the footprint of The Trump Organization across the Gulf region.
A Collaboration of Powerhouses
It is a product of a strategic alliance between Dar Global, the luxury arm of Saudi Arabia’s Dar Al Arkan, and The Trump Organization. The partnership further builds on other successful joint ventures within the region, such as a premium, golf-themed, residential project located in Oman.
Visionaries Design
Though land was acquired last year, both teams have been working closely on each detail since then. Nikken Sekkei, Japan’s most revered architectural firm, is in charge of the tower’s architectural design, having been established for its innovativeness and sophistication. (The Jeddah tower is the design of Gensler Architects.)
Project Layout and Components
This is gonna be a brave project,’ said Ziad El Chaar, CEO of Dar Global. “It will also mark the first ever entry of the Trump super-luxury hotel brand into the UAE, with the first 18 floors going to the hotel.”
The 80-floor Trump Tower Dubai will be divided into three main components:
- Hotel: The first 18 floors will host the first-ever Trump-branded hotel in the UAE.
- Private Club: Two floors will be dedicated to The Trump Private, an exclusive members-only club.
- Residences: The upper levels will comprise ultra-premium residential units, including penthouses.
Estimated Timeline and Cost
According to El Chaar, “Because of the three components – hotel, club and residences – and complexity of the project, we will need around 4 years to build. And we are taking an additional year as back up.”
That would mean a delivery date in 2031.
Estimated development cost:
Conservative estimates about the gross development cost of the project is pegged at the $1 billion mark.
A Statement from The Trump Organization
“We are honored to partner once again with Dar Global on this landmark development, bringing unparalleled quality and world-class amenities to Dubai’s luxury market,” said Eric Trump, Executive Vice-President of The Trump Organization. “Dubai is a global destination that shares our vision for iconic development, and we’re proud to expand the Trump brand in one of the most dynamic cities on earth”
Correcting the Past, Building the Future
This Dubai project is a symbolic relaunch of much-abandoned planning. Originally, the Trump Organization conceived a tower on Palm Jumeirah before the 2008-09 financial crisis, which did not materialize. With Jeddah and Dubai now confirmed, attention veers to another Trump Tower project in Riyadh. El Chaar is not going into specifics about any of that for now, but did say: “There will be two Trump projects in Riyadh, one of which will be a golfing community…”.
