Samsung Galaxy S26 FE launch

Samsung will hold its next Galaxy launch event on August 27, with the company expected to introduce the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE as the latest addition to its flagship smartphone family.

The online event will begin at 5:30 PM IST and will be streamed through Samsung’s official website and YouTube channel. Samsung has confirmed that a new member of the Galaxy S26 series will be introduced, although it has not formally named the device in its event announcement.

Reports and earlier company remarks indicate that the new smartphone will be the Galaxy S26 FE. Samsung has said the upcoming device will bring key Galaxy S26 experiences, including camera and artificial intelligence features, to a wider group of users. It will also arrive with the latest version of One UI.

The Fan Edition range traditionally carries selected features from Samsung’s premium Galaxy S models while being positioned below the main flagship series. The S26 FE is expected to follow the same approach, with a high-refresh-rate display, triple rear cameras and several Galaxy AI tools.

Expected Display and Design

The Galaxy S26 FE is tipped to feature a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2,340 × 1,080 pixels. The screen could support a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and reach peak brightness of around 1,900 nits.

Leaked material points to a flatter design with rounded corners and a new rear camera arrangement. Instead of three separately raised camera lenses, the phone may place its sensors inside a pill-shaped vertical module.

The handset is expected to measure around 7.4mm in thickness and weigh close to 193 grams. It could feature an aluminium frame, Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection and an IP68 rating for resistance to dust and water.

Samsung may offer the device in Graphite, Blueberry and Pistachio colour options. The company’s event teaser appears to highlight both the updated camera module and a light green finish, though the final colour range remains unconfirmed.

Exynos 2500 Chip Expected

The Galaxy S26 FE is likely to run on Samsung’s Exynos 2500 processor, manufactured using a 3-nanometre process. The same chipset has previously appeared in reports and benchmark listings linked to the upcoming device.

The smartphone is expected to carry 8GB of RAM, with 128GB and 256GB storage options. Some reports have also mentioned a 512GB model, but its availability may depend on the market.

The handset could launch with Android 17-based One UI 9. Samsung is also expected to offer seven years of operating system and security updates, continuing the longer support policy applied to recent Galaxy S smartphones.

Artificial intelligence will be a central part of the launch. The device is expected to include Galaxy AI features for image editing, communication, search and content creation. Samsung has only confirmed that the new model will carry important AI and camera experiences from the Galaxy S26 series. The complete feature list will be announced during the event.

Triple-Camera System Likely to Continue

The Galaxy S26 FE is expected to feature three rear cameras:

  • A 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilisation
  • A 12-megapixel ultrawide camera
  • An 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom

A 12-megapixel front camera is also expected for selfies and video calls.

Reports suggest that the rear camera may support video recording at up to 8K resolution and 30 frames per second. The front and rear cameras could also support 4K recording at 60 frames per second.

The camera hardware appears broadly similar to the expected Fan Edition formula, with Samsung likely to rely on image processing and Galaxy AI tools for further improvements. Features connected to image correction, object removal and video stabilisation could form part of the software package.

Larger Battery and Faster Charging Expected

The Galaxy S26 FE could carry a 4,900mAh battery, an increase over the 4,700mAh unit used in the Galaxy S25 FE. It is expected to support 45W wired fast charging, along with 15W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

European certification information reportedly lists the phone for up to 50 hours of typical use and around 1,200 charging cycles. Actual battery performance will depend on display settings, network use and background applications.

Support for magnetic Qi2 accessories may be available through a compatible case rather than magnets built directly into the phone.

Price and India Availability Remain Unconfirmed

Samsung has not disclosed the price or sale date for the new smartphone. Reports suggest that the Galaxy S26 FE could receive a price increase in some international markets.

European pricing has been tipped to begin between €749 and €799, while a reported US starting price of $799 has also circulated.

In India, some early estimates place the starting price at around ₹60,000 to ₹65,000. Samsung is expected to confirm the Indian price, launch offers, storage variants and retail availability during or shortly after the August 27 event.

What to Expect Next?

Samsung’s August event is expected to extend the Galaxy S26 line with a more accessible Fan Edition model. The Samsung Galaxy S26 FE is tipped to combine a 120Hz AMOLED display, Exynos 2500 processor, triple cameras, a 4,900mAh battery and the latest Galaxy AI features.

Most hardware details still come from leaks and certification listings. The final specifications, Indian pricing and sale date will become clear when Samsung announces the device on August 27.
