In the matrimonial world, looking for a life partner who is an IAS, IPS, a professor, or works in a reputed government job was regarded as a social currency. However, with the growing number of entrepreneurs in the country, this trend appears to be declining, according to Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT.

The minister recently joked that the most searched keyword’ on Shaadi.com is not IAS or IPS, as one might expect. Instead, “startup founder” is used.

Chandrasekhar made this observation while speaking at Digital India Week.

“I’m reliably told on Shaadi.com – reliably told by someone else – that the keyword that is now most frequently searched for is not IAS, not IPS, not Tata company or Birla company, but startup employee or startup founder,” the minister said.

However, the minister was not taking himself seriously and was making a joke.

Not IAS or IPS, this is the most searched keyword
