Honasa Consumer aims to acquire about 300 employees across its departments of Marketing, Product and others till the month of March, 2023. The company has one female out of two employees in the headquarters of Mamaearth.
Mamaearth was founded in 2016 by wife and husband, Ghazal and Varun Alagh. They had a vision to manufacture organically based baby products and share it with the world. The parent couple had a really hard time in the past when they were in search of naturally made products for their baby. Being disappointed with those present in the market, they were desperate enough to order imported global products.
But in the long term, getting products from the international market was not sustainable and created big holes in their pockets. The idea to create a brand in India focussing on the needs of such desperate mothers and fathers, Mamaearth was established.
Ghazal and Varun strongly believe in equality in the professional space, and so female employees and associates have an important voice in their company. Honasa Consumer Private Limited (HCPL) which is the mother company of Mamaearth, Ayuga, Aqualogica and Derma Co has female representatives out of two employees.
Reports and statistics suggest that women are leading sectors like marketing, legal and management. The founders encourage women to lead and manage the personal care department and share their ideas and innovation for the company to further grow in the sector. If there are 10 candidates for an interview, Honasa Consumer maintains a balance where they ensure at least 5 of them are women.
The company plans to bring in about 300 new employees in marketing, product and other departments by March, 2023. Honasa Consumer is a women-led company and they want to motivate their strategy at a much larger scale in the future. The company denied funding and support from investment and management firms, where women are not present in the board of committee.
