According to the chairman of RIL, Jio has implemented an independent 5G stack rather than updating the current 4G network to provide extremely fast internet.

To be the first to market with ultra-high-speed internet services, Reliance Jio will invest Rs 2 lakh crore in the implementation of 5G services, starting in major cities in October.

By Diwali, Jio’s lightning-fast 5G services will be available in major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata. Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, stated on Monday that the business is dedicated to making India the largest data-powered economy in the world, surpassing China and the US.

Ambani stressed that 5G cannot continue to be an exclusive service available just to the wealthy few or to those in the largest cities when he made the statement at Reliance Industries’ 45th Annual General Meeting that India deserves nothing less than “True 5G.”

Every Indian has the right to digital freedom, he claimed.

The business demonstrated the capabilities of JioCloud PC, a virtual computer hosted in the cloud, and JioAirFiber, its high-speed fixed-broadband service, and said that the combined power of the two, coupled with Jio 5G, will be a “gamechanger.”

Jio would implement the most recent iteration of “standalone 5G,” which is independent of the 4G network.

In doing so, Ambani claimed that Jio will be able to offer new and potent services including low latency connection, widespread machine-to-machine communication, 5G telephony, Edge computing, and network slicing, and the metaverse.

“We are also collaborating closely with all of the top original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of smartphones from across the world, and we have their assurance that they would support Jio’s True 5G,” he said.

The fifth-generation, or 5G, services typically enable a variety of solutions, including e-health, connected vehicles, more immersive augmented reality and metaverse experiences, life-saving use cases, and advanced mobile cloud gaming, among others. In addition to powering ultra-low latency connections that allow full-length, high-quality video or movie downloads to a mobile device in a matter of seconds (even in crowded areas), 5G services typically enable these solutions.

Recent telecom spectrum auctions in the nation attracted bids totaling a record Rs 1.5 lakh crore, with Mukesh Ambani’s Jio winning nearly half of the airwaves sold with a bid of Rs 87,946.93 crore.

Ambani stated, “We will leverage our combined wireless and wireline assets to cover 3.3 million square kilometers of India’s land mass with fiber-quality internet, connecting even those portions of the country where satellite technology was the only available choice for access.

Jio offers a custom-built 5G stack that supports cutting-edge features like Quantum Security and is totally cloud-native, software-defined, and digitally managed.

“This Made-in-India 5G stack is already installed in our network, and it has the capacity to support hundreds of millions of users right away. Additionally, Jio 5G is ideally positioned to provide captive or private 5G solutions at owner’s economics for Indian businesses “Ambani remarked.

Chairman of Reliance Jio Akash Ambani said the new offers will enable immersive content, consistently in ultra-high-definition quality, regardless of where consumers are while showcasing the different potential of Jio 5G at the AGM. When using mobile applications for video streaming and video calling, it will provide a “dramatically enhanced experience.”

Jio 5G’s ultra-low latency will enable immersive experiences like augmented reality with JioGlass and comparable devices from partners in the near future, as well as real-time applications like cloud gaming.

“The idea of Jio 5G’s ultra-high-speed fixed-broadband is much more exciting. We are naming it JioAirFiber because you can get fiber-like speeds over the air without any cables “Akash Ambani stated, “The new product will make it easy to rapidly connect home or office to gigabit-speed Internet.”

A personal Wi-Fi hotspot will be created at home utilizing JioAirFiber Home Gateway, a wireless, one-device solution that will connect to extremely fast internet using 5G.

According to the company, JioAirFiber would open up experiences like cloud gaming, live interactive entertainment, and immersive shopping.

“Literally hundreds of millions of homes and offices can be connected to ultra-high-speed internet with such a straightforward approach, and that too in a very short amount of time. Additionally, India can be ranked in the top ten countries for fixed broadband “added Akash Ambani.

JioAirFiber’s gigabit bandwidth will provide several video streams for cricket matches, displaying multiple camera viewpoints simultaneously in ultra-high resolution. However, Jio Cloud PC, a virtual PC housed in the cloud, will release customers from the loop of paying money to upgrade their computers or laptops frequently.

Private 5G will fuel “factories of the future” and Industry 4.0, the business claimed, citing instances such as autonomous robotic cars carrying items in the challenging environment of a manufacturing floor.

Using Jio Private 5G, such vehicles may be tracked and managed in real-time, it was claimed.

There would also be other uses for 5G in industries including agriculture, healthcare, and education.

With the rollout of 5G in India, the business predicted that the current 800 million connected internet devices will increase to 1.5 billion linked internet devices in just one year.

“We are collaborating with Google to create 5G cellphones for India that are quite affordable. We’ll also make use of Google Cloud’s cutting-edge capabilities to provide Jio’s Private 5G stack and other 5G-enabled solutions to both domestic and global users at scale,” Mukesh Ambani said.
