Liquidnitro Games, a Hyderabad-based live service and game development firm, has raised $5.25 million (about INR 43 crore) in a seed fundraising round headed by Nexus Venture Partners. 

Liquidnitro Games intends to use the funds raised to construct a gaming studio, invest in AI and technology to improve production pipelines and provide live services at scale.

Angel investors in the round included veterans of the gaming industry from the United States, Canada, the European Union, and India.

Kowdley stated, “Live services and game creation will look very different in the coming years, molded by new technology, AI, and unexplored growth areas. We believe that by combining our extensive gaming experience, making big technological investments, and collaborating with global game firms, we will be able to have a significant effect in the near future.”

India’s gaming industry has been gaining traction among investors for some time.

Sandhya Devananthan, Meta’s India MD, recently stated at the Meta Gaming Summit in Mumbai that the Indian gaming industry is expected to produce almost $7.5 billion in revenue and 250,000 jobs by the following year. 

GameTech Accelerate – The Future of Gaming is an online gaming accelerator project that the Karnataka government launched in collaboration with Games24x7 to support the gaming industry. According to the official release, the program will mentor online gaming firms that offer ‘new and viable’ solutions.
