Headquartered in Dubai, UBQT raised a $750,000 pre-seed round to scale up product development and deployment. The investment will help UBQT expand its features and user base so that it can create opportunities for real-world interactions.

Since officially opening in January 2024, UBQT has rapidly expanded to nearly 5,000 organic downloads. Besides, the app has partnered successfully with giants such as GITEX, Step Conference Dubai, The Offline Club, and Emotion Network in Milan. With this latest funding, UBQT awaits the expansion of its audience and aims to continue its efforts to decrease excessive screen time through the promotion of real-life interactions.

In a major move in leadership, UBQT announced the engagement of I.Q. Sayed as the third co-founder and Chief Technology Officer. A visionary technologist and entrepreneur, he brings to UBQT a wealth of experience gained working with Meta and Careem. His in-depth knowledge in scaling technology products coupled with driving digital innovation will be instrumental in fulfilling UBQT’s next growth phase.

The rare mix of strategic insight and technical capability developed over a spectral history of creating hype technologies at these two most influential global companies makes Sayed the sort of figure in the industry that can truly ignite innovation and drive transformation. UBQT hopes that Sayed’s appointment will strengthen its play against other companies engaged in social networking and consumer tech as it looks to deploy its disruptive platform into the market.

The recruitment of Sayed into the leadership team opens a renewed page for UBQT, perfectly aligning with the already set vision of co-founders Jonathan L. Hasson and Lara Varjabedian. Under this trio, UBQT is poised to embrace the tech landscape in transition. The trio will carry UBQT through uncharted waters as they seek to redefine social networking through real connections.

“We are completely overjoyed to close the pre-seed funding round and have Iq officially on board,” said Jonathan Hasson, Co-Founder of UBQT. “This is just the beginning, and with this new infusion of cash and the addition of Iq to our team, we are poised to create a platform truly designed to facilitate earnest in-person connections.”

UBQT is now preparing for its Seed round this spring to further enlarge operations and enhance user experience for its user community.

Based in Dubai, UBQT (pronounced “Ubiquity”) is an AI-powered social app aimed towards encouraging meaningful, real-life interactions.
