W Hotels Delhi NCR

The Dharampal Satyapal Group (DS Group) has signed an agreement with Marriott International to launch a W Hotels property in Delhi NCR, marking the lifestyle luxury brand’s entry into the capital region, the company said in a press release on Saturday.

The 200-room hotel will be developed near Indira Gandhi International Airport, close to the Aerocity hospitality corridor, at an estimated investment of Rs 400 crore. It is slated to open in the second half of 2027 and will be the brand’s second property in India after Goa.

Betting on India’s demand-supply gap

DS Group vice chairman Rajiv Kumar pointed to a wide gap between India’s hotel supply and its growth potential, noting the country’s penetration of roughly 0.27 keys per 1,000 people against a global average of 2.2.

He described Delhi as central to the group’s expansion plans given its role as a gateway for corporate and diplomatic travellers.

Nathan Andrews, DS Group’s business head for hospitality, said the signing supports the group’s target of operating 10-12 hotels by FY29, citing strong RevPAR growth in the Aerocity micro-market as the rationale for the location.

Kiran Andicot, Marriott International’s senior vice-president for South Asia, called it the brand’s first W Hotels signing in Delhi NCR, and said DS Group’s legacy in India made it a fitting partner for Marriott’s push to expand differentiated hospitality formats in the country.

Design-led positioning

The property will follow W Hotels’ signature format of design-forward interiors, a W Lounge social hub, and lifestyle programming, positioning it against the capital’s established luxury hotel brands.

Wider expansion plans

DS Group currently operates six hotels — Namah Nainital, Namah Jim Corbett, Radisson Blu Guwahati, InterContinental Jaipur, Renaissance Bengaluru, and Holiday Inn Express Kolkata. The group is targeting a doubling of its room inventory by 2029, backed by an investment commitment of Rs 1,000 crore.
