The campaign

The new “Go nature. Go Carton.” campaign explains the actions being taken by the company. They have set goals for the future that include 100% renewable packages by 2030 and carbon-free packages by 2050.

With the goal of creating a new sustainable food package, Tetra Pak is working to increase the amount of paper and plant-based materials in its packaging. This also entails obtaining raw materials in a manner that preserves biodiversity and natural ecosystems. Tetra Pak is also working to increase recycling, which will be helped by a well-developed collection, sorting, and recycling infrastructure.

Tetra Pak boxes currently contain more than 70% paper, with 100% of the paperboard being FSC certified. The cartons are also recyclable, with a growing network of collecting agencies, recyclers, NGOs, and social companies recycling them.

Tetra Pak has worked towards improving the recycling ecosystem in India over the last 18 years. To facilitate the recycling of old packages, the corporation collaborates with over 30 collecting partners spanning 26 states and union territories, as well as four independent recyclers.

Goal

Tetra Pak declared a new goal in June 2020 as part of its drive to become the world’s most sustainable packaging company. Their aim is to achieve net zero carbon emissions in their own operations by 2030.

As the world’s biggest food packaging company, Tetra Pak places a high priority on renewable, low-carbon materials and green technologies.

Achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 is one of the company’s long-term sustainability objectives. Tetra Pak has just been honored as one of the top 50 Sustainability and Climate Leaders for their efforts so far.

The world’s population is expected to grow to 9.1 billion people by 2050, necessitating a 70 percent increase in food production. Preserving and distributing food is made easier by the use of packaging. With 33% of food lost or wasted each year, high-performance packaging is very important in today’s global food supply chain.

Conclusion

Tetra Pak collaborates with more than 170 recycling facilities across the globe and numerous important stakeholders in the value chain to enhance the recycling value chain. Companies like this one are working hard to reuse as many cartons as possible, which is good for the development of a circular economy.
