The Indian Air Force (IAF), in partnership with the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government, is putting out the “Mumbai Air Show” over Marine Drive from Friday to Sunday. The traffic police of the city have posted alternate routes in place of the roads that are restricted to vehicles.

The incident has also resulted in the suspension of flight operations at the Mumbai airport.

The Sarang Helicopter Display Unit and the Suryakiran Aerobatic Display Team (SKAT) will also perform in the IAF’s aerial display.

A wide variety of aerial acts would also be included in the aerobatic displays, including as a low-level aerobatic performance and fly-past by the Su-30 MKI and freefall and parachute shows by the Akashganga team and C-130 aircraft.

The initiative, which aims to increase awareness and strengthen ties between the IAF and the community, includes the show.

Mumbai Traffic Police offers alternate routes and advice.

The Mumbai Traffic Police declared on Thursday that there will be traffic restrictions in place in several areas of the financial capital on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The advise states that Dinshaw Vacha Road, N S Road (North Bound), Veer Nariman Road (North Bound), and N S Road (South Bound) will all stay blocked during the event.

The traffic department stated that these limits do not always apply to emergency vehicles while designating substitute routes for these ones.

Additionally, parking will not be accessible on NS Road, Barrister Rajni Patel Marg, Madame Cama Road, Ramnath Goenka Marg, and Dinshaw Vacha Road from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday.

Vehicles on the Veer Nariman route, Maharishi Karve Road, Vinay K Shah Road, Jamnalal Bajaj Marg, and Free Press Journal route would be subject to the same regulation.

Mumbai airport will continue to be partially closed.

Meanwhile, two runways of Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) would remain blocked from 12:00pm to 1:00pm until Sunday.

Prior to the event, the airport authority released a passenger advisory in which it stated, “We strongly advise passengers to confirm their planned flights with their individual airlines before arriving at the airport on certain days. We value your participation.
