Modi urged people to fly the national flag in their homes on Sunday as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” initiative.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi changed his Twitter and Facebook profile pictures to the national flag on Tuesday as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” initiative to commemorate India’s 75th year of independence. On his birthday, he also paid tribute to Pingali Venkayya, the designer of the flag.

“On the occasion of his birth anniversary, I pay tribute to the great Pingali Venkayya.” Our country will be eternally grateful to him for his efforts in bringing us the Tricolor, which we are very proud of. “May we continue to work for national progress, drawing strength and inspiration from the Tricolor,” Modi said in a tweet.

Modi urged people to fly the national flag in their homes on Sunday as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” initiative. He also asked them to use the Indian national flag as their profile picture on social media between August 2 and 15.

Modi suggested that people use the image of the Tricolour as their profile picture to commemorate Venkaiah’s birth anniversary on August 2.
