L&T wins mega orders

Larsen & Toubro’s Metals & Minerals (M&M) business vertical has secured multiple orders from leading domestic metals and mining companies, the engineering major said Monday. 

Per L&T’s own order classification, the “Mega” tag applied to the release places the combined order value between ₹10,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore.

18 MTPA iron ore plant order from PSU major

The first order comes from a public sector company that is India’s largest iron ore producer. As part of its expansion programme to hit 100 MTPA of iron ore production capacity by 2030, the company has awarded L&T Package #BE-01C of an 18 MTPA Iron Ore Handling Plant in Chhattisgarh. The scope covers design and engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of a downhill conveyor system, screening plant, stockpile, yard equipment, a Rapid Wagon Loading System (RWLS), and associated auxiliaries.

Steel plant expansion to 7.1 MTPA in West Bengal

The second order is from another public sector Navratna company that is expanding a steel plant in West Bengal from 2.5 MTPA to 7.1 MTPA, for which L&T has secured various Design & Build and Balance of Plant packages.

Zinc processing plant EPC order rounds out wins

L&T has also secured an EPC order for a Zinc Processing Plant from a major private sector metals producer with which it has a long-standing association. The scope includes design and engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning and associated site services.
