Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched the country’s first Oracle AI Data Platform Lab and Center of Excellence (CoE) in Kolkata, marking a significant expansion of its collaboration with Oracle to help enterprises convert fragmented data into AI-driven outcomes. The company said it plans to open similar facilities in four more Indian cities over the next three years.
Kolkata facility to address core AI adoption barriers
The new facility, housed at Delta Park Lords, Kolkata, is designed to help customers overcome common barriers to AI adoption, including fragmented data landscapes, slow analytics cycles, limited AI scalability, and operational inefficiencies, TCS said in a press statement.
Using reusable architectures, industry solutions, and accelerators, TCS will help customers turn enterprise data into actionable intelligence and deploy AI-driven automation at scale.
TCS is listed on both the BSE and NSE and generated consolidated revenues of over $30 billion in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026. The company has set an aspiration to become the world’s largest AI-led technology services company and counts enabling clients across the full AI stack, from infrastructure to intelligence, as a core strategic priority.
Oracle platform combines OCI, autonomous database, and enterprise AI
The Oracle AI Data Platform makes data AI-ready and enables the creation and deployment of agentic applications by harnessing the combined capabilities of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Autonomous AI Database, and OCI Enterprise AI.
The initiative reinforces TCS’ continued investment in advanced AI engineering, intelligent data platforms, and next-generation analytics. TCS has a centralized team of 26,000 Oracle-skilled professionals across India to support clients’ AI initiatives. The company operates across 56 countries with 194 service delivery centres worldwide.
4 more cities planned by TCS over next 3 years
TCS said it plans to roll out Oracle AI Data Platform Labs and CoEs across four additional cities in India over the next three years. The company did not name the locations.
Arvind Mehra, Head, Alliances and Channels, Technology, Oracle India, said the facility is built on a secure, unified data foundation and would enable customers to turn data into real business outcomes, from actionable insights to intelligent automation.
Sudipto Ray, VP and Global Head, Oracle Practice, TCS, said the lab is designed to accelerate the journey from ideation to experimentation to full-scale deployment. He added that customers would be better positioned to utilise their data, adopt intelligent automation, and maintain a competitive edge in a fast-evolving digital landscape.
