Out of the total, domestic air travelers would climb to 320 million from 275 million this fiscal. Over this decade, the international air passenger figure will climb to 75 million from 58 million. Indian airports’ revenues could climb to $3.9 billion next fiscal year.

India is predicted to see domestic airport pax climb to 700 million passengers, and international airport pax to 160 million passengers by FY2030,” CAPA India stated.

Indian airport operators are predicted to post a 26 percent gain in revenues at USD 3.9 billion in the upcoming financial year, aviation consultant CAPA India said on Wednesday. During 2023-24, aviation passenger traffic, including domestic and international, is estimated to reach 395 million, it stated while giving the prognosis for the airports.

It stated that Indian airports’ income of USD 3.9 billion (Rs 32,390 crore) in the next fiscal would be 26 percent greater than predicted in 2022-23.

The forecast was provided at the CAPA India aviation symposium here. Stefano Barconi, Director General of ACI Asia Pacific, said airports’ health was harmed substantially by the epidemic and that air passenger traffic is currently in recovery mode.

Airports Council International (ACI) Asia Pacific represents more than 600 airports.

The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), managed by DIAL, has earned the award for Airport Service Quality (ASQ) best airport for 2022 in the category of above 40 Million Passengers Per Annum (MPPA) (MPPA). It has also been rated as the cleanest airport in the Asia Pacific area by the Airports Council International (ACI) (ACI).

ACI is a non-profit group of airport operators. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) is a GMR Airports Infrastructure Ltd consortium.

In a separate announcement, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) stated Tiruchirappalli International Airport has been named the best in the Asia Pacific area in the category of under 2 million passengers ACI. State-owned AAI manages Tiruchirappalli airport in Tamil Nadu.
