Aurum PropTech Limited has announced that it will acquire 100% of Housing.com from REA Group. The deal is an all-equity transaction, structured as a binding Share Acquisition Agreemen.
Aurum will issue 1,97,93,309 equity shares to REA India. That’s roughly 20.5% of its enlarged share capital. In return, REA India’s total stake in the listed PropTech company will rise to 24.9%, it said Thursday in a press release.
The companies say the tie-up will build India’s first AI-native real estate operating system.
Housing.com brings scale: Over 58 million average monthly visits and 12 million monthly active users
That marketplace now joins Aurum’s tech-enabled ecosystem. Together, the companies say, they span the full real estate lifecycle — discovery, transactions, financing, rentals and management — on one platform.
The plan is a single AI and data architecture running across the combined business.
It would connect consumer demand, developer inventory, brokerage activity, rentals and transactions. Aurum says this should sharpen discovery, matching, pricing and decisioning across the platform.
Ashish Deora, Founder and CEO of Aurum Ventures, welcomed REA as a significant shareholder “as we build the next chapter of Indian PropTech, powered by AI and data.”
He said bringing marketplace and transactions together would “create compounding synergies that will drive the next phase of value creation.” On the shared data, he said every interaction across the two platforms “makes the whole ecosystem smarter.”
Cameron McIntyre, CEO of REA Group, said Aurum has “strong capability and local market knowledge to operate the India business effectively,” and that REA is “confident it will be in the right hands.”
He thanked the Housing.com team for their contribution, adding that REA looks forward to “future growth and partnership under Aurum’s leadership.”
