Life is always unpredictable, throwing at us fragments of adventure, challenge, and purpose. Juggling all these stratospheric metrics often led to burnout. But being the resilient species we are, humans always strive to be better and push boundaries. While this sounds heroic on paper, it breaks a person down from the inside, leading to a plethora of mental or physical health issues. Today’s piece is a strong voice guiding our readership on the importance of mental wellness in an often saturated and noisy world.
Avrati Raturi founded Zen Wellness from her own personal experience when she was literally bedridden during a time when she was engaged with the purpose of life: studying, collaborating, and traveling from New York to India. She opens up about the surprising turn of events when she keeps falling sick with all her vitals dropping at a drastic level, and even 50 doctors cannot decipher a rational diagnosis or treatment.
The editorial reflects on how this vibrant entrepreneur realized the pivotal benefits of yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and stillness. She also found a way to channel her creative expression through painting, which exposed her to a rigorous exchange of colors.
Most importantly, this editorial analyzes how the magnitude of Avrati’s personality has been the result of distinguished education combining lessons from science, the humanities, and the arts. Avrati Raturi completed her schooling under the ICSE curriculum from All Saints’ College, Nainital, and later completed high school from Delhi Public School, RK Puram. Post that, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona. Currently, Avrati is looking forward to studying for a master’s degree to gain more expertise in neuroscience and positive psychology.
Zen Wellness is built on the pillars of trust, and Avrati has ensured the ecosystem is diverse, inclusive, and free from any form of judgment. Her clients get to express themselves freely and are all guided under personalized plans for their personal development. Avrati Raturi envisions scaling Zen Wellness digitally, possibly through an app or online platform, so that more people can access tools for mindfulness, stress management, and emotional well-being in their daily lives. The healthcare company has conducted 16-plus events with the state mental health institute for patients. As an industry expert, Avrati conducted guest speaking sessions at the Kingston Institute of Medical Sciences and the Shivak Institute of Research and Ayurveda.
Avrati focuses on the fact that the pace of a modern life compels one to rest, pause, and reflect, which is why she wants to provide experiential packages at Zen Wellness through retreats and in-person experiences. Furthermore, her business plan consists of a pipeline that comes with a physical space—a concept store and studio that will define warmth, safety, and creativity expansively for anyone and everyone visiting it. She is at Zen Wellness after a mountain of challenges. Being so young and ambitious as a womenpreneur, she has had her fair share of patriarchal or societal challenges, where people did not take her seriously. Avrati wants to inspire other women and build a community that cherishes joy, peace, and harmony. For the believers and future leaders, Avrati says, “When you know your ‘why,’ your ‘what’ has more impact because you’re working toward your purpose!”
