Csilla Torma has a key leadership role in finance and HR with over two decades of multinational leadership across telecom, ICT, and digital marketing industries. Her role as strategic CFO, governance expert, and transformation leader is known for integrating financial precision with human capital development. Currently serving in Hungary at Cheil Worldwide, part of the Samsung Group, she leads work in financial governance, compliance, digital transformation, and talent strategy.

For a world that only seems to be running after numbers as a metric for success, there is a counter definition from Csilla. She is like a master luthier, aiming to build human capital as a key factor for sustainable growth. While reflecting on her monumental career in the area of finance and HR, Csilla shares about Hungary’s telecom industry privatization and liberalization. It was during the time when a huge influx of FDI (foreign direct investment) unfolded a new chapter for the country’s economic growth. An analysis justifies that for Hungary, this was not the moment of steady pace but an enormous development in this industry. She contributed to transferring international knowledge, technology, and operational frameworks into Hungary and the region.

Then Csilla Torma worked at the Deutsche Telekom Group for about 17 years in executive leadership roles within the company’s international business, serving simultaneously as CFO, HR business partner, compliance head, and data privacy officer. Csilla’s strategic leadership has not only gone beyond a paper-based achievement but has also come as a blueprint for future leaders in this sector. She shares with Business Outreach Magazine that her plate has been quite opportunity-driven, which includes contributing to €6M+ direct budget leadership, €529M+ revenue operations, and €130M+ EBITDA performance while managing a 115+ member shared service organization spanning finance, HR, IT, compliance, and privacy across multiple entities in Central and Eastern Europe with global commitments.

To point out a few of Csilla Torma’s leadership skills from a technical standpoint, they would be multi-entity governance across regulated markets, M&A due diligence and post-merger integration frameworks, GDPR implementation and privacy transformation, SAP SuccessFactors local digital rollouts, international talent mobility programs, and employer branding initiatives that earned the Reliable Employer Award three times, among others.

Csilla Torma has highlighted, “In telecom and ICT, growth is engineered through developing networks via systems, governance, and talent alignment. Without an integrated finance and HR strategy, expansion becomes fragile.”

In 2025, Csilla started working at Cheil Hungary in a key finance & HR leadership position, operating within a global agency network active in 46 countries. With great expertise, Csilla brings her transferable skills from the telecom and ICT industry to the performance-driven world of digital marketing. Some of her key know-how includes financial strategy and profitability oversight, HR development and talent management, regulatory compliance and governance alignment, coordination between local leadership and international headquarters, and contribution to regional SAP implementation and transformation initiatives. The marketing industry sheds a bright light on the fact that creativity, financial discipline, and data should be aligned for industry scalability.

Studying the latest market trends and continuous upskilling are non-negotiable for Csilla Torma. She often says that change is the only constant thing in the world. Coming from this, we look into Csilla’s interest in quality education in shaping her critical thinking and strategic decision-making. She studied an MBA in Strategy, Finance & Change Management at Buckinghamshire Business School (UK); a diploma in management studies (UK), and an MSc in Economics (Planning & Mathematics) at Corvinus University. Csilla is a Certified Public Accountant (Hungary) and Certified Dipl. Tax Consultant (Hungary). Additionally, she also has a REFA Controlling Certificate (Germany). Furthermore, Csilla Torma completed executive programs at Harvard Business School (Disruptive Strategy and Sustainable Business Strategy), AI Governance (2024), and advanced digital marketing and B2B strategy certifications at Illinois and Yonsei Universities.

There have been challenges like telecom privatization, liberalization, and culture change; multi-country regulatory shifts; complex M&A integration; GDPR transformation frameworks; and several others. Csilla believes her goal is to lead the way and inspire talented people and other women to take up executive roles and drive change towards a better, inclusive world.
