pet food brand in India

At some point, every founder meets a sentence that rewires them.

For Manaal Manek Maniyar, it came in 2021. His Labrador Einstein—just a year old—was struggling, and after consultations and uncertainty, he heard words no pet parent forgets: “Nothing much can be done.”

“That sentence does something to you,” Maniyar says. “It turns your life into a mission.”

It’s easy to romanticise origin stories after the fact. The truth is messier. For years, the building looked like 16–17 hour days, factory visits disguised as holidays, weekends that turned into work trips, strained relationships, and the quiet weight of starting something without guarantees.

But Maniyar’s journey wasn’t built on ambition alone. It was built on a kind of caretaker instinct—something pet parents recognise instantly—when responsibility becomes purpose.

That purpose is now called TailBlaze: a longevity-focused pet nutrition brand for India’s modern pet parents. The startup recently had its first mainstream moment when TailBlaze was featured on Amazon MX Player’s Bharat Ke Super Founders—produced by Rusk Media and Recur Club, and co-powered by StockGro and Legacy Collective.

The TV spotlight was a milestone—but what followed mattered more from a business standpoint: TailBlaze opened pre-orders for HeartPour, its first hero product—and the first slot sold out minutes after the episode aired. A second batch of 500 slots is now selling out quickly, the brand says, as it converts attention into early demand.

The real problem: love isn’t the gap, trust is

India’s pet market has seen a clear shift over the last few years. Pet parents are more emotionally invested, more willing to spend, and increasingly open to premium formats. Yet nutrition remains one of the most confusing parts of pet parenting.

Parents love deeply, but they’re often caught between conflicting advice, unclear products, and a category trust deficit that keeps families second-guessing everyday decisions. Feeding is rarely binary (home food vs packaged). It’s mixed. People top, mix, alternate, and experiment. What they want is clarity, confidence, and a product they can use daily without doubt.

TailBlaze’s bet is simple: if it can earn trust through consistency—without gimmicks—it can build long-term loyalty.

The wedge: HeartPour — “real wet food, not just gravy”

TailBlaze is launching with HeartPour, positioned as real wet dog food, not just gravy—built around the brand’s PanchTatva Longevity Blend philosophy.

HeartPour is designed to work for real Indian feeding behaviour:

Serve it as a meal, when you want convenience without compromising on quality

Top or mix it daily with home food or kibble, when you want to upgrade what your dog already eats

TailBlaze says HeartPour contains:

  • No artificial flavours
  • No adhesive-like smell
  • No fillers
  • No preservatives

Turning attention into demand

Right after the episode aired, TailBlaze opened pre-orders on its website (tailblaze.in). The brand says the first slot sold out within minutes, and the next 500 slots are being filled rapidly.

The play is straightforward: limited first drop, a clear call-to-action, and a product that doesn’t require a 20-minute explanation. The urgency is operational as much as it is marketing-led—first drops are where customer experience is fragile.

“The goal isn’t fame,” Maniyar says. “It’s momentum—so pet parents try it, trust it, and come back.”

The larger thesis: longevity is a discipline

Longevity is a powerful word in pet care—and a dangerous one if brands use it as a medical promise.

TailBlaze frames it as longevity-focused: a mission and operating discipline built on daily nutrition, ingredient integrity, consistency, and long-term trust.

Because in pet nutrition, the real brand is not what you say. It’s what happens in the bowl—every day.
