Cupertino, September 4, 2025 – Apple plans to debut its new iPhone 17 series at the “Awe Dropping” event on September 9, 2025, in Cupertino, California. Four variants will be released—the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Consumers can pre-order the new iPhones starting September 12, and they will be available for sale on September 19 in various countries, including India.
Pricing
In India, it is estimated that the iPhone 17 will have a starting price of ₹79,990, while the new iPhone 17 Air (which will replace the Plus model) could start at approximately ₹99,990. The iPhone 17 Pro could be close to ₹1,24,990, but, as expected, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the top-end model, could be close to ₹1,64,990.
In other markets across the globe, Pro models are expected to be about $50 more expensive because of higher input costs and US tariffs. It is expected the iPhone 17 Pro will start at $1,049, while the Pro Max may start at $1,249.
Layout and Appearance
The iPhone 17 series is expected to feature a slimmer form factor, iOS 26, and a new A19 chip from Apple that will allow for increased speed and efficiency.
It is possible that all models may come with a 120Hz ProMotion OLED display. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature a 6.6-inch display as well as a single 48MP camera, which makes it one of the cheaper models in the premium price range.
The Pro models will see the most drastic changes. Apple may move away from a square camera island and instead introduce a horizontal camera bar on the back of the device. In addition to this, Apple may also replace the titanium frame with a half-glass, half-aluminum structure.
Colors may encompass a bold Fiery Orange, as well as White, Black, Grey, and Dark Blue. The iPhone 17 Pro could feature a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max model could introduce a 6.8-inch display, with an anti-glare coating to reduce glare.
Camera
The front-facing camera may be upgraded to a 24MP option for selfies. The Pro models may introduce a new 48MP telephoto lens as part of the triple camera array for improved zoom, as well as possibly 8K video recording capabilities.
Battery and Charging
The iPhone 17 Pro Max may feature a 5,000 mAh battery, the biggest ever in an iPhone. Charging could support:

Performance
We can expect there to be better speed and power saving from the new 3nm designed A19 Pro chip. The Pro models may come with 12GB RAM instead of the usual 8GB to run iOS 26 smoothly and be able to use Apple’s stated AI applications.
Other Products
Besides the iPhone 17 series, Apple may also announce the Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3, and AirPods Pro 3. Apple may also retire some older iPhones.
Summary
The iPhone 17 Pro Max will obviously be the star of the event with a new design, better cameras, larger battery and better performance. The iPhone 17 Air will offer a budget device in the premium range while the Pro models will be the main attraction.
