According to Piyush Shah, cofounder of the InMobi Group and president and COO of Glance, the Indian social media company, which is supported by Google and Reliance Jio, plans to launch its live platform Roposo in the coming quarter and expand its services to Indonesia.

According to him, Roposo will provide creator-driven live content to lock screens.

In addition to a broad audience reach and distinctive engagement, he said that this will give creators “several, varied avenues for monetization.”

Via its gaming platform, Nostra, the company also intends to expand the number of games and live game broadcasting options.

In Indonesia, Shah predicted that Nostra’s user base would treble this year.

With agreements with game studios and creators throughout the world, Nostra also hopes to increase its game collection this year from 400 to 1,000.

“This presents a significant opportunity for Indonesia’s talent pool of game creators to build and scale games through their presence on the lock screen—not only in Indonesia but throughout Nostra’s other markets as well,” he said.

Over the past two years, the company’s workforce in Indonesia has more than doubled, and it plans to keep investing in local infrastructure and talent.

In the meantime, the number of Glance’s monthly active users (MAU) in Indonesia reached 30 million, and in the following 12 months, it is anticipated that this number will reach 50 million in four to six quarters.

The Glance lock screen provides personalized and trending content from regional and international publishers in a variety of genres, including games from studios and streamers as well as live video from expert creators.

On their Android smartphones, people in over 225 million different markets utilize Glance. Glance has been available in Indonesia for around two years.

“Our three most popular categories in Indonesia over the previous six months have racked up 626 million, 591 million, and 411 million video views, respectively. Customers are discovering interesting, personally relevant experiences on Glance, whether it be news, entertainment, live gaming, or health and fitness material, Shah told ET.

In order to help media publishers utilize the Glance lock screen for more in-depth engagement with their audiences, we hope to establish two to three collaborations with them, according to Dalip Shahri, Director of Market Development for Glance Indonesia.

According to the Glance smart lock screen study 2023, it has a nearly equal distribution of active male and female users and balanced involvement across age groups (40% aged 35 and above, 36% between 24 and 34 years).
