WhatsApp is said to have added a “+” sign to indicate the new emoji reactions.

According to a source, WhatsApp is seeking to provide users with more options for responding to messages than ever before using new emojis. People could only choose from six emojis in the previous version of the function. The feature is being developed for WhatsApp beta users on Android. However, there is no word on what other emojis the Meta-owned instant messaging app would add to the existing collection, which was made available to testers last month. Emoji replies have previously been offered on Meta-owned services such as Instagram and Messenger.

According to WABetainfo, the new version of message reactions will have a “+” button at the end of the six existing emojis: Like Love, Laugh, Surprised, Sad, and Thanks. Users should be able to respond to the message by selecting a different emoji after hitting the “+” button.

due to the feature is still in development, there is no word on when new reactions will be available. According to WABetainfo, a release date is currently unknown, so we may have to wait a little longer for the feature. As previously stated, Facebook Messenger and Instagram allow users to respond to messages with any emoji. It is probable that WhatsApp will provide comparable possibilities to Meta’s other two platforms.

WhatsApp has also been testing the message reactions functionality for WhatsApp Desktop, as well as an emoji reactions shortcut next to messages in the desktop client. Users would be able to respond to communications more quickly as a result of this. Users of WhatsApp competitors such as Discord, Slack, and Telegram may already utilize the emoji message reaction function.
