In Varanasi on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the cornerstone for the third public transportation ropeway in the world and the first in India. In addition, he will speak at the “One Global TB Summit” in honour of World Tuberculosis Day and introduce development initiatives worth more than Rs 1,780 crore.

“The passenger ropeway from Varanasi Cantt station to Godowlia will have its foundation stone laid by the Prime Minister. The project is expected to cost around Rs. 645 crores. And on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak at the Varanasi “One Global TB Conference.” According to a statement, Modi will speak at the One World TB Summit on the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day. The summit is being organised by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and Stop TB Partnership, an organisation sponsored by the UN that raises awareness of the disease and empowers individuals, communities, and nations affected by it.

In addition to releasing India’s annual TB report in 2023, he will officially roll out a shorter TB preventative treatment (TPT) across the nation and a family-centric treatment approach for TB. He will also declare the start of the TB-free panchayat programme.

He will dedicate and lay the cornerstones for approximately Rs 1,780 crore worth of developments during a ceremony at the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University grounds, which would be another step in the right direction.

In accordance with the Namami Ganga Programme, he will also lay the cornerstone for a 55 MLD sewage treatment facility at Bhagwanpur, which would cost more than Rs 300 crore to construct. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the cornerstone for phases two and three of the Sigra Stadium’s rehabilitation project under the Khelo India Plan.

More than three lakh people from 63 panchayats will receive drinking water thanks to 19 programmes the prime minister will dedicate as part of the Jal Jeevan Mission.

He will also lay the cornerstone for 59 drinking water initiatives that are part of the mission, which will enhance the rural water system even further. Modi will also introduce a number of additional development programmes.

Also, he will devote a number of initiatives under the Varanasi Smart City Project, including the renovation of the city’s public schools in Mahmoorganj and Rajghat, the cleaning of internal streets, and the building of six parks and ponds.

ATC tower at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport; 2 MW solar power plant at water works premises in Bhelupur; 800 KW solar power plant at Konia Pumping Station; new community health centre at Sarnath; infrastructure improvement of the industrial estate at Chandpur; revitalization of temples of Kedareshwar, Vishweshwar, and Omkareshwar Khand Parikrama, among other projects, are among the other infrastructure projects that the prime minister will dedicate.
