The first installment of ₹540 crore was made available to one lakh beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) rural housing initiative on Monday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The occasion was facilitated by PM Modi via video conference.

PM Modi spoke with a few PM-JANMAN beneficiaries during the occasion, and they shared how their lives have improved since they enrolled in government programs to obtain a cooking gas connection, electricity, piped water, and housing.

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin recipients received the first installment, worth ₹540 crore.

To support the socioeconomic well-being of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), PM-JANMAN was introduced on November 15 in honor of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas.

Aiming to improve the socio-economic conditions of PVTGs by providing them with basic amenities like safe housing, clean drinking water and sanitation, improved access to education, health, and nutrition, electricity, road, and telecom connectivity, and sustainable livelihood opportunities, PM-JANMAN, with an approximate budget of ₹24,000 crore, is divided into nine ministries and focuses on eleven critical interventions.

Now, the government program’s advantages will not be denied to any of my incredibly disadvantaged siblings and sisters.” PM Modi stated

-PM Modi also discussed the impending consecration event of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, saying, “I am lucky to have been invited for the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony Ram temple in Ayodhya. After a few days, on 22nd January, Lord Ram will also give us darshan in his grand temple.” I have also started an 11-day special anushthan ahead of ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony…It would not be possible for Lord Ram without Mata Shabri.”

-Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the recipients a happy Mahar Sankranti and remarked, “The nation is currently experiencing a joyous mood.” Pongal, Bihu, Uttarayan, and Makar Sankranti…When I consider that one lakh of my family’s incredibly backward tribal siblings and sisters are celebrating Diwali at home, it brings me immense joy. On the other hand, Diwali is being celebrated in Ayodhya. They are receiving money deposited into their bank accounts today for a pucca house. I extend my felicitations to each and every family and hope they enjoy a joyous Makar Sankranti.”
