Ola Group’s artificial intelligence company Krutrim has purchased the AI platform BharatSah’AI’yak from technology consulting firm Samagra. In addition to the platform, the core AI team who built the platform were also included as part of the deal. The amount paid for this deal was not disclosed.

BharatSah’AI’yak is an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled chatbot designed to assist pilgrims during 2025’s Maha Kumbh—one of the biggest religious gatherings in the world. The chatbot would be referred to as KumbhSah’AI’yak during the event itself. The chatbot provided pilgrims with informative and useful information. It was used for providing information related to rituals, directions, accommodations, places to check out nearby and safety updates. It operated 24/7 and was multilingual (in several Indian languages).

The chatbot was created from open-source large language models (LLMs) and ran on Krutrim’s hosted infrastructure. It developed to provide answers quickly, helpfully, simply, and humanly. Its success during the Maha Kumbh highlighted how AI could provide meaningful help to individuals at a large event.

Now, Krutrim is looking to expand the platform and deploy the model in different areas in the country. The company wants to provide BharatSah’AI’yak to more users with its own AI engine and cloud systems, and its agent-based platform, ‘Kruti’. The hope is to use the chatbot model in other areas besides just religious events.

“Integrating BharatSah’Ai’yak into the Krutrim ecosystem widens its offerings. This integration enhances our ability to build AI that is inclusive, intuitive, and deeply rooted in the lived realities of India,”  said a Krutrim spokesperson.

Krutrim is creating an AI ecosystem-first approach, with the target upon India. The technology it is developing functions effectively in Indian languages, and understands Indian culture. The company believes AI should be made available to everyone, not just techies.

“With this acquisition, Krutrim aims to leverage its own Large Language Models (LLMs) or artificial intelligence engine, cloud infrastructure and agentic platform powering Kruti to scale up BharatSah’AI’yak pan India,” the statement said.

Krutrim has teamed up with Lenovo to build what it claims will be India’s largest AI-focused supercomputer. This high-performance computing system is expected to accelerate and support the development of its large language models, including the new Krutrim 3 that has 700B parameters according to reports. The complete specifications and deployment timeline for this supercomputer have not been made public, but it will be powered by NVIDIA’s latest GB200 superchips, and is part of Krutrim’s plan to build sovereign AI infrastructure for India.

This acquisition demonstrates Krutrim’s strong focus on using AI for public benefit. Krutrim aims to make intelligent technology available across the country with useful and easy-to-use AI for everyone in India.
