Nikhil Kamath, the co-founder of Zerodha, stated that despite his young age, he is motivated to making a good difference in the world and believes that the foundation’s aim of creating a more equitable society resonates with his values and aspirations.

Nikhil Kamath, the co-founder of Zerodha, has joined The Giving Pledge, which was launched in 2010 by Warren Buffett, Melinda French Gates, and Bill Gates, and in which the world’s wealthiest families and individuals commit to donating the majority of their fortune to philanthropic organizations. Nikhil Kamath is only the fourth individual to join the community, following Azim Premji, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Rohini, and Nandan Nilekani.

“As a young philanthropist, I am writing to thank you and to join the Giving Pledge.” Despite my age, I am devoted to making a good difference in the world, and I believe that the foundation’s aim of creating a fair society matches my values and aspirations,” Kamath stated.

According to Nikhil Kamath’s profile, he began working full-time at the age of 17, and his experience has primarily revolved around the stock markets. He has worked in this field for 18-19 years. He claims that his main area of expertise is investing, and he spends the majority of his time researching investments in both public and private markets.

In 2010, he launched Zerodha, as well as Gruhas for private investments, hedge fund True Beacon, which manages wealth for India’s ultra-high net worth individuals, fintech incubator Rainmatter, and Rainmatter Foundation, which helps climate-related non-profits.

Kamath was welcomed into the community, which just celebrated its 13th gathering, where guests discussed ideas on how to improve the effectiveness and impact of their philanthropic contributions.

There are 241 philanthropists from 29 nations who have signed the Giving Pledge. It tries to inspire people to give more and to make charitable intentions sooner.

Apart from Kamath, The Giving Pledge has welcomed Ravenel B. Curry III (United States), Benoit Dageville and Marie-Florence Daleville (France, United States), Michael Krasny (United States), Tom and Theresa Preston-Werner (United States), Dennis Troper and Susan Wojcicki (United States), and Andrew Wilkinson and Zoe Peterson (Canada) since the last gathering in June 2022.
