The company claims to have already invested $140 million in start-ups in India.

The top South Korean gaming corporation, KRAFTON, Inc., creator of the BGMI, plans to invest $150 million in India over the next two to three years. In the upcoming years, KRAFTON will support the holistic expansion of the gaming industry and invest in the Indian start-up ecosystem as part of its India-first strategy. Since its initial investment in March 2021, the organization claims to have invested over $140 million in 11 creative Indian start-ups.

The CEO of KRAFTON India, Sean Hyunil Sohn, stated: “We are pleased to promote the growth of the start-up ecosystem in India and are committed to having a disruptive influence not only on the gaming and tech industry but also on the broader content landscape. We believe in the power of Indian IPs and content in making a lasting global impact, and we are excited to achieve new milestones in our journey to unlock the country’s full potential as a global gaming powerhouse.”

By utilizing its knowledge and experiences in the markets it invests in, KRAFTON is focused on generating strategic value that goes beyond simple financial contributions. The company’s interests extend beyond game development studios to a wide range of related industries, such as Esports, multimedia entertainment, content production, and audio platforms.

KRAFTON has recently widened its focus to encompass deep tech and the creator economy, aggressively helping start-ups in these developing industries. KRFATON hopes to develop local talent through this investment, encourage innovation, and push India to the top of the world gaming market.
