An official stated on Tuesday that Kalyani Steel Limited has planned to invest Rs 26,000 crore to establish a complex in Gajamara in the Dhenkanal district of Odisha that will manufacture automotive and titanium metal components, as well as integrated advanced specialty steel.

Chief Secretary P K Jena informed the reporters here on Monday night that the state cabinet has granted a special incentive for the unit because it will be the first aerospace and defense production complex in Odisha.

According to him, the state government is dedicated to creating an atmosphere that is favorable to innovation and growth, especially in the highly promising industries of aerospace, defense, and automotive manufacturing.

According to Jena, the projects, which have a total investment of more than Rs 26,000 crore and the potential to create over 12,000 jobs, will mark the start of a new phase of industrial growth and job creation in the state.

In the years to come, there will be a large number of job possibilities due to continued vendor development. According to him, the employment would mostly be in the high-end, high-skill sector and would provide Odisha’s young with new opportunities.

In addition, the chief secretary stated that these partnerships for upskilling in the auto-components, specialty steel, and alloys manufacturing sector will boost Odisha’s skilling landscape and have the potential to make Odisha the skill capital of India for new-age tech. These partnerships will help the state meet its requirement of high-end, high-skill jobs.

According to him, the initiative would bring in suppliers from the manufacturing and service sectors, who will help the local MSMEs and startups grow. This will lead to more jobs and entrepreneurship in the area.

The state government is excited to be working with the Kalyani Group and will do all in its power to see these projects through to completion.

“We are excited to see the numerous advantages that these projects will offer the people of Odisha, ushering in a new phase in the state’s development into a center of excellence in manufacturing,” he said. 

Kalyani Rafael Advanced Systems and Kalyani Technology Limited are subsidiaries of the Kalyani Group. Additionally, the firm owns Bharat Forge Limited (BFL), a holding business well-known for producing car parts and aerospace and defense components.
