As part of its European development plans, the IT giant announced the establishment of a new proximity center in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Infosys, an Indian IT services giant, has announced plans to expand its operations in Europe. This entails establishing a new office and employing new personnel.

As part of its European development plans, the IT giant announced the establishment of a new proximity center in Sofia, Bulgaria.

“Serving global and European customers, the center will support customers in accelerating their AI and Cloud-led digital journeys and will further strengthen Infosys’ existing client relationships in Europe, particularly in the manufacturing, retail, and financial services sectors,” Infosys said in a statement. This center will also be used by Infosys to swiftly grow up teams in digital and analytical skills, as well as SAP and cloud.”

In addition, 500 people would be hired for the new proximity center. The business stated that these new people would focus on global opportunities centered on next-generation digital technologies such as Infosys Cobalt Cloud Solutions, Infosys Topaz AI & Automation, Data and Insights, IoT, 5G, and software engineering over the next four years.

The new activities are intended to attract transaction flow from both European corporations and governments.  Furthermore, a spokesman from the Bulgarian government stated that this is a significant move for the IT major’s contribution to the local economy.
