Honda Cars India said on December 16 that its mid-sized Sports Utility Vehicle Elevate had sold 20,000 units since its September introduction in the local market.

According to the carmaker, the new model accounted for more than half of total company sales in the previous three months and helped the firm increase sales by 11% in the September-November quarter compared to last year.

We have maximized production of the Elevate to serve our waiting customers as soon as possible and adjusted the variant mix to align with market demand, which is currently overwhelmingly high for CVT variants,” stated Yuichi Murata, Director (Marketing and Sales) at Honda Cars India.

India is the first nation in the world to produce and market the Elevate. Honda also intends to make India a significant export base for the new model to other areas of the globe, to meet the solid worldwide demand for SUVs. TRB PTI MSS
