The early life of the international star 

Taylor Swift, originally named Taylor Alison Swift was born on 13 December 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift was heavily inspired by Canadian singer-songwriter Shania Twain. The little girl used to sing in local festivities and events but within her heart she knew that she wanted to make it big in life, at eleven she went to Nashville along with her mother to submit some of her demo tapes at record levels but she got rejected.

At the age of thirteen, she was given an artist development deal due to which she used to travel to Nashville on a frequent basis until her family permanently shifted to Hendersonville. In Nashville Swift worked with some of the foremost song writers including Warren brothers and developed a special bond with Liz Rose, an American country songwriter who has co-written over 17 of the Taylor songs. 

In the year 2005 she caught the attention of Scott Borchetta, who was preparing to release an independent record label – Big machine records. Taylor Swift was one of the earliest singers at Big machine records where she wrote three of the album songs on her own and the remaining were co-written by her and some other prominent song writers including Rose, Robert Orral, Angelo Petragila.

Taylor swift was launched in the year 2006 and her album lasted on the U.S billboard for about 157 weeks, beginning the rise of power star Taylor Swift.

Her second album “fearless” was released in the year 2008 in North America and reached other countries by March, 2009. Between 2008-2009 she released five singles including “Love Story”, “fearless”, “fifteen”, “the white horse”, “you belong with me”. Swift won the award for best female video for her music video “you belong with me” at MTV video music awards.

In 2010 Swift came up with her third album Speak now, which touched the sales of one million copies within the first week of release. It also became the fastest selling digital album by a female artist with over 2,00,000 downloads in a week, which led to Swift securing her name in the Genius world records in 2010. In 2012 she released “we are never ever getting back together” under her fourth studio album Red which topped the itunes sales chart within the 50 minutes of its release. 

In 2014 she shifted to New York city and started working on her fifth album 1989. She released her sixth album “Reputation” which was also her last album with Big machine records. In the year 2018 she joined hands with Universal music group and released her seventh studio album “lover” and in the midst of covid 19 she surprised her fans with two albums “folklore” and “evenmore” released in 2020.

Keds offers a variety of shoes inspired by Taylor’s swift style and her album covers. Taylor swift was also the face of “ladies first” a worldwide campaign led by Keds in the year 2015 to encourage women empowerment. Undoubtedly Taylor swift represents the modern age women who are highly ambitious and capable of setting trends for others to follow.

Taylor Swift launched her first perfume “wonderstruck” in the year 2011 which was a huge success. In 2012 Taylor Swift and Elizabeth Arden decided to present its first flanker named as “Wonderstruck perfume”.

Here flanker basically means launching of new perfumes that have some attributes of the already existing perfumes. 

3) Covergirl

The popular American cosmetic brand chose Taylor Swift to represent and promote its luxury makeup – COVERGIRL natureluxe which was launched in the year 2011. Although the national advertising council (USA) banned the advertisement run by Covergirl featuring American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift due to excessive use of photoshop creating unrealistic beauty standards among women.

4) L.E.I jeans

Taylor Swift was signed as a face for L.E.I jeans and the clothing line was named as “this is a L.e.i country”. The exclusive collection was available across various Wal-mart stores nationwide. L.E.I which is an american clothing brand which stands for life, energy and intelligence. The brand chose Swift seeing the craze for her among teenage audiences. 

5) Got milk

It was a campaign run on television as well as digital platforms to accelerate the consumption of milk and dairy products. The campaign was started in 1993 as an initiative taken by the California milk processor board, in the year 2008 Taylor swift joined the campaign as a celebrity ambassador. 

6) Diet coke –

World’s largest beverage brand, the Coca-Cola Company stated in one of its press releases in 2013 that diet coke wants to celebrate the tireless passion and artistic excellence of Taylor Swift. In a commercial created by the Coca-cola company Swift is shown penning down lyrics that will connect her to her fans while having a sip of diet coke. 

 7) Apple music –   

Taylor swift stood against Apple music for not paying artists royalty amount during the first three trial months, after this the company changed its regulations and started paying artists in the trial phase. As the matter resolved Swift appeared in an Apple music commercial in which she was shown tuning to Apple music while in the gym.

The 33 year old music icon has over 272 million followers on Instagram and a net worth of around $740 million making her one of the most desirable brand ambassadors for global brands because the trendsetting singer- songwriter has an insane fan following all over the world which makes her capable of adding significant value to the brands she endorse.
