Bharti Airtel and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) in order to introduce WhatsApp Banking Services for IPPB customers, allowing users to access banking services on their mobile devices.

According to a statement from the firm, Airtel IQ, a cloud communications platform as a service that enables marketers to communicate with their customers across phone, SMS, and WhatsApp channels, will provide customers with the WhatsApp messaging solution.

Also, Airtel will make it possible for IPPB users to easily connect with the bank on WhatsApp and access a variety of banking services, such as finding the closest post office and requesting doorstep assistance.

The Airtel-IPPB WhatsApp Banking solution is also working on building multi-language support, enabling customers, especially those in the rural parts of the country, to access banking services in their preferred language. This is in line with the government’s ambition to bring digital and financial inclusion to citizens of India in their language.

According to Airtel, IPPB has been helping it deliver up to 250 million messages each month to the bank’s clients, many of whom reside in mofussil villages and tier 2,3 cities.

The addition of WhatsApp messaging would increase clients’ ability to communicate with the bank at their convenience and advance the GoI’s vision of “Digital India,” a part of which IPPB has been working assiduously to provide financial services in the nation’s rural areas.

The CGM and CSMO of the India Post Payments Bank, Gursharan Rai Bansal, stated, “We are pleased to engage with Bharti Airtel as our partner in promoting financial and digital inclusivity in India. We think that technologically based financial services have a lot of promise and can do a lot to make sure that the greatest financial solutions are available everywhere in the nation.

The business head of Airtel IQ, Abhishek Biswal, said of the cloud communication platform: “Airtel IQ is a powerful, user-friendly, and secure suite. We will make it possible for customers of India Post Payments Bank to communicate with the bank in both directions by adding WhatsApp messaging to the voice and SMS services that are now available to them. We are happy to continue working with IPPB in order to make a substantial impact on the country’s tier 2, tier 3, and other cities’ access to banking services. We commit to continuing to provide clients with solutions that are centered on their needs and are more convenient.
