According to an initial draft schedule shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the highly anticipated India-Pakistan match in the ODI World Cup 2023 will take place on October 15 at the impressive Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which has a seating capacity of 100,000. The tournament will commence on October 5 with a match between the 2019 finalists, England and New Zealand, also held at the same venue. India will begin their campaign against Australia in Chennai on October 8.

The BCCI has submitted the draft schedule to the International Cricket Council (ICC) for review, after which it will be sent to the participating countries for feedback. The final schedule is expected to be confirmed in June. While the draft schedule does not disclose the venues for the semifinals on November 15 and 16, the final match on November 19 is confirmed to be held at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.

India’s matches in the tournament will be spread across nine venues, with their last game scheduled in Bengaluru on November 11. Here is India’s schedule:

Despite the tournament being only a few months away, the ICC has not yet confirmed the final schedule for the ODI World Cup. In previous editions, the schedules were usually finalized more than a year in advance. The delay in announcing the schedule has hindered the release of ticketing details, causing inconvenience for overseas fans who are eager to make travel arrangements. However, ICC CEO Geoff Allardice has assured that the schedule will be released soon.
