Sunil Kataria of Godrej Consumer Products Limited joined Raymond as the company’s chief executive officer of its lifestyle business in March. Kataria was given the responsibility of leading the company’s digital agenda and enhancing the brand’s presence in both domestic and foreign markets.

NEW DELHI: On Wednesday, the textile, apparel, and real estate conglomerate Raymond Ltd. announced the selection of Atul Singh as group president.

In a filing to the exchanges on July 13, Raymond Limited stated: “The Nomination and Remuneration Committee of Raymond Limited has recommended his appointment as Executive Vice Chairman to the Board of Raymond Limited subject to and post securing necessary regulatory clearances.”

According to the business, Singh’s hiring represents a “significant step towards building a future-ready organization.”

Singh comes to Raymond from the world’s largest beverage company, Coca-Cola, where he spent more than 20 years in various senior leadership roles. Singh oversaw operations in 25 nations as chairman of the Asia Pacific division in his final position with the company.

Before working for Coca-Cola, Singh spent ten years at the fast-moving consumer goods company Colgate-Palmolive, where he held a number of global leadership positions, including his current position as country manager for Nigeria.

According to Gautam Hari Singhania, chairman and managing director of Raymond Ltd., “Raymond is at an inflection point and has started the journey to be a future-ready organization to achieve profitable growth and value unlocking.”

Raymond, meanwhile, runs a variety of companies in the retail, fast-moving consumer goods, and real estate sectors. Brands like Raymond Ready to Wear, Park Avenue, ColorPlus, and Ethnix are among the ones it sells in its retail division. With roughly 1,400 stores spread across more than 600 cities, Raymond has one of the largest exclusive retail networks in the nation.

Branded textiles, which had reported sales of $2,789 crore in the fiscal year 2021–2022, made up the majority of the company’s business with consolidated revenues of $6,348 crore in FY22.

The company also engages in business in the market for precision-engineered goods. Raymond has also entered the real estate market. The company has a presence in the personal hygiene and male grooming categories of the fast-moving consumer goods market.
