Kirloskar Brothers Limited’s wholly owned UK subsidiary, SPP Pumps Ltd, has secured a significant order worth GBP 11.7 million from Saipem Offshore Construction SPA for the supply of vertical pumps and spares, the Pune-headquartered pump manufacturer said on Tuesday.

Kirloskar Brothers order: Order size and scope

The order carries a total value of GBP 11,674,520, translating to approximately Rs 149.59 crore, as per the company.

The contract covers the supply of vertical pumps along with spares, and has been awarded by Saipem, which the company classified as an international entity. The order is to be executed over a period of 52-60 weeks from the date of receipt.

SPP’s standing in the UK market

Kirloskar Brothers described SPP Pumps as the company’s flagship international subsidiary, holding a leadership position in the UK pump industry.

The filing termed the win a prestigious order for SPP, underscoring the subsidiary’s growing traction with international clients in the offshore construction space. SPP has functioned as a key international arm for Kirloskar Brothers, extending the group’s manufacturing and supply capabilities beyond India into the UK and other overseas markets.

Contract terms and obligations

As part of the order’s terms and conditions, SPP is required to furnish a performance bond equal to 10 percent of the contract value, in addition to a warranty bond amounting to 5 percent of the value.

These bonds are standard safeguards in large international supply contracts, offering the buyer, Saipem in this case, financial protection against non-performance or defects during the warranty.
