Apple is expected to announce the new iPhone 17 series at an “Awe Dropping” event on September 9, 2025, in Cupertino. The iPhone 17 series will include iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and the new flagship iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The biggest design and feature upgrades are on the Pro models.
The Pro models are expected to bring the highest design updates and most new features.
Price
- iPhone 17 Pro series could be $50 more expensive due to increased input costs and US tariffs.
- The iPhone 17 Pro may cost as little as $1,049.
- The iPhone 17 Pro Max has an entry point of $1,249.
- In India, the Pro Max supposedly will cost ₹1.65 lakh.
Design
Apple is likely discontinuing the square-shape camera island, and, instead, bringing a new horizontal camera bar shape across the back of the phone.
They are also expected to discontinue their titanium finish. A more homogeneous design should expect a half-glass, half-aluminum finish.
New variations for colours will likely include a Fiery Orange, and familiarity of Black, White, Grey, and Dark Blue.
Display
- The iPhone 17 Pro will have a 6.3-inch display.
- The iPhone 17 Pro Max will have a 6.8-inch display.
Both will feature a Super Retina XDR OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz.
Apple is also working on an anti-reflective coating with the potential for increased longevity and reduced glare.
Camera
- Front camera: bumped to 24MB (up from 12MB)
- Rear camera: Pro models may deliver a 48MP telephoto lens, which will be the first time any iPhone has a 48MP triple-camera.
- Better selfies, sharper zoom, and potentially even 8K video recording!
Battery and Charging
The battery for the iPhone 17 Pro Max could be up to a 5,000 mAh battery, the largest in an iPhone to date.
- Charging has been enhanced:
- 45W wired fast charging
- 25W wireless charging
- 7.5W reverse wireless charging for accessories such as AirPods.
Performance
The new phones will run on the A19 Pro chip built with 3nm technology that promises quicker speed and efficiency.
RAM is expected to be increased from 8GB to 12GB, which will simplify using iOS 26 and Apple’s new AI capabilities.

Some older iPhones could be discontinued with the announcement.
