The Tesla bot will most certainly be used initially at the company’s internal premises, Musk said, providing the concept of moving components around a facility as an instance. After an individual disguised as a robot conducted a choreography at an occasion in August demonstrating Tesla’s artificial intelligence work, he initially introduced the product.

In Musk’s words, “The foundation of the economy is labor. So what happens if you don’t actually have a labor shortage? I’m not sure what an economy even means at that point. That’s what Optimus is about.”

Tesla plans to embed monitors for its Autopilot driving software into the lifelike robot’s head, Musk declared in August. The computer that will ultimately assist Full Self-Driving functionality in the company’s automobiles will be embedded in the bot’s torso.
