There might be fewer things in life as noble as spreading knowledge for the greater good, for the growth of communities and generations. We are living in the middle of a tech outburst where companies, professionals, and stakeholders are nurturing the latest innovations for exploring prospects. As India’s business magazine championing the country’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, Business Outreach’s editorial looks beyond the grit in building a business. Our pen searches for the personality that is wrapped within compassion, creativity, and curiosity. From our talks with Vaibhav Kulkrani, we unfold the story that built The Grow Club and Techmatron.co.uk.
Vaibhav Kulkarni talks about baby steps to success but the gruesome, long hours and grinding that actually get goals achieved. He built The Grow Club with an aim to simplify concepts in engineering domains like mechanical, electrical, aerospace, civil, robotics, etc. With time, the demand of the subjects increased, and Vaibhav Kulkarni was finding it difficult to match the timings of lesson sessions with learners from across the globe due to differences in time zones. And at this critical juncture, Vaibhav did what an ideal entrepreneur should do by uploading the learning materials on YouTube.
We asked Vaibhav about any numbers that he could share about The Grow Club’s YouTube success bandwidth. To which the 27-year-old young entrepreneur shares that the Grow Club has reached a diverse audience. The channel also celebrated 8,000+ users and 1 million views on pilot training videos, which help pilots to study for CPL, PPL, and ATPL. The series of playlists, such as The Jet Engine, ATPL, Aerodynamics, etc., has created double the user interaction than expected.
To make education reach a wider network of students has always been the goal of Vaibhav Kulkarni. He simplified concepts like aerodynamics, fluid mechanics, structural designing, avionics, integrated circuit designs, composite materials, robotics, etc., to empower students to be industry-proficient. The Grow Club collaborated with international universities like Coventry University (UK), Liverpool Business School, and Zabeel University in the UAE and with several regional institutions in India, etc. The company’s digital presence helped them expand to about 8 to 9 different countries: India, Bangladesh, Singapore, the UK, the USA, etc. Most importantly, the Grow Club community opened doors to students from the vulnerable and underprivileged sections of society from across the world. Here, Vaibhav shares an example with us: back in 2023, he received an email from one Issac Watson in Tanzania. The son of a tomato farmer could not afford books to study, and such messages inspired Mr. Kulkarni to further scale edtech platforms like The Grow Club and Techmatron.
Vaibhav was always more inclined to flying machines like helicopters and airplanes. This feeling eventually inspired him to study aeronautical engineering in higher studies. Throughout his education, Vaibhav did not leave any stones unturned when studying about aircrafts and their design and how to build them. Although the aircraft fabrication industry in India took a downward slope, Mr. Kulkarni bagged internships at MNCs such as Airbus, Bengaluru Aircraft Industries Limited, and Hindustan Aeronautics Laboratories while being a student. These opportunities gave Vaibhav a lot of exposure in his career. He reflects on his journey when, in 2020, he was developing The Grow Club, and Vaibhav got the opportunity to work for airport authorities in India. His expertise was in handling airside operations for domestic and international airlines at Bengaluru Airport and later at Delhi Airport.
The life of an entrepreneur is nothing less than a rollercoaster, where it is highly likely that the person embraces both the highs and lows. While speaking to Business Outreach, Vaibhav got emotional about how he is proud of his team and his leadership capabilities. During his time at the job, Vaibhav Kulkarni used to tell investigative stories of aircraft crashes. He says that his strategies immensely boosted the performance of his team members. During his 3 am international shifts at the airport, Vaibhav reached his place of work about an hour earlier and worked till midnight. He always had a Plan B for emergencies, and this mindset is what he brought on his road to entrepreneurship. During his business and marketing studies at Liverpool Business School, UK, Vaibhav upheld a sportsman spirit and was awarded best product designer from Autodesk for the part of AutoCAD, Fusion 360, and CFD software.
When it comes to Techmatron LLC, Vaibhav Kulkarni collaborated with Dr. Gunjan Sarang, the entrepreneur in the United Kingdom. Dr. Sarang has years of expert insights in industries like IT, F&B, and service-based platforms operating in the UK, India, and the Middle East. For the future, Techmatron is working on projects in sectors like defense, healthcare, IT, and AI. They are aiming to cover the precision of operating aviation software by building a new-gen UAV system for surveillance, improving the healthcare system, etc.
For his unparalleled commitment to the industry, Vaibhav won awards like the Tech Innovators Award in 2022 and Best Public Speaker in the under 30 category in 2023 and was nominated for the Atal Samman Samaroh 2026 by the Government of India, among many others. Mr. Kulkarni says, “Nobody is smarter than you. You are unique and special. Learn a new thing so that you won’t improve yourself by 100%, but you will improve yourself by 365% in a year, which is better than the rest of the world.”
