The upcoming Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge is set to transform Expo City Dubai into a vibrant hub for cycling enthusiasts from February 24th to 25th. Now in its 14th edition, the premier multi-distance cycling event will welcome over 3,800 participants to wind through the city from its new starting point at Expo City Dubai. Alongside the main 94km Gran Fondo route, cyclists of all abilities will have the opportunity to take part in the TotalEnergies Outride or junior rides catering to various age groups.

A major highlight this year is the expansive Eat Well Live Well Village that will be set up within Expo City Dubai. Serving as a central meeting point before and after the rides, the village promises an immersive experience for participants and spectators alike. Spinneys will be on-hand offering refreshing snacks and beverages, while Dubai 92 curates a lively soundtrack to energize the festive atmosphere. Families can enjoy giveaways, entertainment options like inflatable attractions, and cooling ice baths and massages will aid riders’ recovery. The village concept aims to bring the cycling community together and celebrate an active lifestyle in a social setting.

In a new partnership, InstaShop has also joined as the Title Sponsor of the Junior Rides taking place on February 24th. Young riders between the ages of 2-12 can look forward to distances ranging from 1km up to 6km tailored to their abilities. Every finisher will receive a medal and certificate, encouraging lifelong involvement in the sport. InstaShop’s values of wellness and quality closely align with the event’s ‘Eat Well Live Well’ theme in nurturing the next generation of cyclists.

Cycling has seen tremendous growth in popularity locally in recent years, and the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge has played a pivotal role in developing grassroots participation. This year’s edition is on track to break its own registration records with over 3,800 riders signed up so far for the competitive Aster Pharmacy BIG 5 route categories. The event also marks Dubai’s status as a global hub for cycling tourism, attracting amateur and professional athletes from around the world.

With Expo City Dubai serving as the new starting point, participants can expect scenic routes winding past some of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks. TotalEnergies returns as the Presenting Partner of the more leisurely 35km Outride, open to e-bikes and recumbent cycles this year in a new ‘Bike For All’ initiative. High-profile event partners like Tesla and Luminox add to the experience on and off the course.

After a challenging two years for mass participation sports due to the pandemic, the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge is primed to make a strong comeback in 2024. Its new village concept and expanded offerings catering to all ages cement its role in promoting health, wellness and community spirit through cycling across the UAE. With just days to go, riders and fans are eagerly anticipating hitting the streets of Dubai for the emirate’s premier cycling festival.
