Shamina Singh, an Indian-American business leader, will be appointed to the President’s Export Council, the primary national advisory council on foreign trade, by US President Joe Biden.

Shamina Singh, an Indian-American business leader, has been appointed by US President Joe Biden to the President’s Export Council, which acts as the primary national advisory group on foreign commerce. 

Shamina Singh is the Mastercard Centre for Inclusive Growth’s creator and president. Shamina Singh, a notable Indian-American businesswoman, remarked after the announcement that she is “honoured to join the group of esteemed leaders that comprise the President’s Export Council.”

On July 1, President Joe Biden revealed his intention to appoint Singh to the critical position. “I am deeply honoured to join the President’s Export Council’s group of esteemed leaders,” Singh remarked. Shamina Singh is a successful businesswoman and the latest Indian-American to be nominated to a significant position by Joe Biden. 

“From the beginning of my career, I’ve gravitated towards work that contributes to long-term and inclusive prosperity for people and economies in the United States and around the world,” she was cited as saying on Mastercard’s website.

The President’s Export Council functions as the primary national trade advisory council. The Council advises the president on government policies and programmes affecting US trade performance, promotes export growth, and provides a forum for corporate, industrial, agricultural, labour, and government sectors to discuss and resolve trade-related issues.
