Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually lay the groundwork for the Gurugram Metro project on February 16. The estimated cost of the metro project is ₹5,452 crore.

AIIMS Rewari and Gurugram Metro

According to a report released on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially launch the Gurugram Metro project on February 16. It also stated that PM Modi will essentially lay the groundwork for seven or eight projects on the same day. This would also cover the AIIMS Rewari, located in the area of Majra Bhalkhi.

The entire former Gurugram region will be included in the Gurugram Metro project. The project to extend the metro is going to cost ₹5,452 crore

According to the Hindustan Times (HT), Gurugram residents would be able to witness the event live. Notably, the city has long demanded the completion of the Gurugram Metro project. It will link the metro to the city’s historic district. In June of last year, the project received approval.

The project entails extending the metro to Cyber Hub from Huda City Metro Station, which is now known as Millennium City Centre Metro Station. The ancient Gurugram will also be covered by the 26.65 km route. It is probably going to cost ₹5,452 crore. Gurugram Metro Rail Ltd., a joint venture between the governments of Haryana and the Central government, would handle it.

The planned 210-acre AIIMS Rewari project is expected to come with a price tag of about ₹1,231 crore. In India, it will be the twenty-second AIIMS. In Budget 2019–20, its construction was announced.

There will be 750 beds in this hospital and 1,500 outpatient visits each day at the outpatient facility. Additionally, there will be a medical college with 25 super specialized departments and 100 seats. It will have a nursing college as well. Earlier plans called for Manethi to be the site of construction. Nevertheless, Majra Bhalkhi was substituted since Manethi was now part of the Aravalli forest.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is intending to turn this occasion into a rally and draw one lakh people to the live telecast of the celebration, according to another article published earlier by the Indian Express (IE). It stated that in order to plan for it, the BJP called a rally on Sunday.

The Gurugram metro extension project was authorized by the Union cabinet on June 7, 2023, during a meeting presided over by Prime Minister Modi. The project would extend the metro system 26.65 kilometers, or the entire former Gurugram district, from Huda City Metro station (now known as Millennium City Centre Metro station) to Cyber Hub. A 1.85-kilometer connection to the Dwarka Expressway was also permitted.
