Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the ONGC Sea Survival Centre, an Integrated Sea Survival Training Facility. 

He also opened India Energy Week 2024 and took part in the Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047 initiative. The Prime Minister opened the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology Goa and the new campus of the National Institute of Watersports. 

He also opened a 100 TPD integrated waste management facility and lay the groundwork for a passenger ropeway and a 100 MLD water treatment plant. He also issued appointment orders to new government hires and gave out sanction letters to recipients of different benefit schemes.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ONGC Sea Survival Centre on Tuesday during his day-long visit to Goa. The Centre was created as a one-of-a-kind Integrated Sea Survival Training Centre to elevate the Indian sea survival training ecosystem to worldwide levels.

The center is planned to train 10,000-15,000 individuals per year. Exercises in simulated and controlled extreme weather circumstances can improve trainees’ sea survival abilities, potentially increasing their chances of safely escaping real-life disasters.

Later in the day, he will open India Energy Week 2024 and take part in the Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047 programme.

The Prime Minister has made it a priority to achieve Aatma Nirbharta in terms of energy requirements. Another move in this approach will be India Energy Week 2024, which will take place in Goa from February 6 to 9.

It will be India’s largest and only comprehensive energy expo and conference, bringing together the whole energy value chain and acting as a catalyst for India’s energy transformation goals. The Prime Minister will host a roundtable with global oil and gas CEOs and academics.

India Energy Week 2024 will place a strong emphasis on encouraging and supporting entrepreneurs, as well as integrating them into the energy value chain. Around 17 energy ministers from various nations are anticipated to participate, along with 35,000+ participants and around 900 exhibitors. It will have six specialized country pavilions: Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

A dedicated Make in India Pavilion is also being developed to highlight innovative solutions that Indian MSMEs are pioneering in the energy industry.

The Prime Minister will launch and lay the groundwork for around Rs 1,330 crores in public projects in Goa.

The Prime Minister will officially open the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology Goa to the public.

The Prime Minister will also dedicate the new campus of the National Institute of Watersports to the country. The institution will provide 28 tailor-made courses targeted at promoting the growth of watersports and water rescue activities for both the general population and the Armed Forces. The Prime Minister will also launch a 100 TPD Integrated Waste Management Facility in South Goa.
