Belief is a very strong word. It can turn a losing match into victory, win battles, fight for justice, build exceptional products, and create revolutionary innovation. All the greats of the past and present do not just rule our glorious history through practicality and theory alone. There must have been a ritual in their minds—a relentless conviction—that moved them forward in spite of failure.
Entrepreneurs are born out of such belief systems. They stay true to their goals, constantly adapting, refining, and reimagining solutions that move society toward progress and sustainability.
While working with such clear-minded individuals, the editorial of Business Outreach Magazine not just values their hard work towards uplifting the Indian economy, but also analyzes key steps taken by them to make their companies a success.
Building from Belief: The Sheth Industries Journey
Nishant Seth, founder of Sheth Industries, embodies the kind of entrepreneurial mindset that transforms adversity into opportunity. Founded over a decade ago, Sheth Industries is a fast-emerging player in India’s infrastructure sector, manufacturing RCC Precast Boundary Walls, Paver Blocks, and concrete drainage solutions.
But the story of Sheth Industries is not just about cement and machines—it’s about contribution. Contribution to the ‘Make in India’ movement, to local employment in Eastern India, and to a vision of sustainable, modular infrastructure across the country. Nishant Seth is a first-generation who engaged in manufacturing entrepreneurship from a Gujarati Jain family, a community historically known for its deep-rooted business acumen and substantial contribution to India’s GDP despite being a minority. Yet his personal journey was not born from inheritance but from intent.
A Journey Forged in Faith and Family
During his college years in Kolkata, Nishant worked at his uncle’s office to learn and to fund his monthly expenses. It was here that he learned the basics of business, responsibility, and persistence. Around this time, he was introduced by his uncle to the PMEGP scheme, which turned out to be a life-changing opportunity.
In 2011, with the financial support of his maternal uncle, Nishant purchased a small plot in Asansol. The following year, he secured his first PMEGP loan of ₹24.85 lakhs and began setting up his manufacturing unit—against all odds and despite widespread skepticism.
Growing With Vision
Today, Sheth Industries stands as a testament to resilience. Inspired by Hon’ble Shri Nitin Gadkari’s emphasis on precast drainage systems, Sheth Industries plans to establish a new manufacturing line for RCC U-shaped drains by 2026. With a stronghold in West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, and Jharkhand, Sheth Industries serves both public and private sector giants, including DVC – (DTPS, RTPS, KTPS), BPCL, HPCL, Nayara Energy Ltd, Shyam Metalics, JMCC Infra Projects, EIPL–Odisha, Adani Group, and more.
Nishant also acknowledges the growth of Asansol and West Bengal’s industrial ecosystem, made possible by the development-focused leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Her administration’s policies and support for entrepreneurship have enabled Tier 2 cities like Asansol to emerge as strongholds of regional economic activity.
Rooted in Education, Driven by Purpose
Nishant Seth completed Class 10 under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) from Guru Nanak Model School, Asansol, and passed Class 12 from DAV School. He holds a B.Com (Hons.) degree from Bhawanipur Education Society College (Class of 2010) and pursued a Diploma in Foreign Trade Practice and Management from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata.
Recognition, Challenges, and Community Leadership
In 2022, Nishant received a second PMEGP loan of ₹90 lakhs to expand his plant. Yet the journey hasn’t been without hurdles—working from a Tier 2 city meant limited access to skilled labor, capital, and industry exposure. Cyclones and unpredictable monsoons delayed several projects. But Nishant remained undeterred.
His contributions have been recognized with multiple honors:
- Bengal Excellence Award – 2017 in field of Tiles Industry
- Youth Achievement Award – 2017
- Young Entrepreneur of the Year – 2023 by FOSBECCI Association
- Multiple accolades from local trade bodies and business associations
He has also served as President of the Rotaract Club of Asansol (2017–18) and President of Shree Asansol Gujarati Relief Society (2020–22)—demonstrating leadership not only in business but also in social service.
Final Word: A Thought to Build On
“Don’t wait for perfect conditions. Start with what you have and build as you go.”
— Nishant Seth
