Kochi is about to become the centre of India’s industrial action next January. The city will host the second India International Industrial and EV Expo, along with the Industrial Mega-Summit from January 16 to 18, 2026, at the Adlux International Convention Centre. In simple terms, this is a massive gathering where machinery makers, business owners, and entrepreneurs will come together to showcase what’s new in industry and clean energy technology.
Think of it as a huge marketplace where you can see the latest machinery, electric vehicles, solar panels, and wind energy solutions all under one roof. Over 600 exhibitors from India and abroad, including China, Germany, Korea, Japan, and the United Kingdom will display their products. More than 20,000 business visitors have already registered, showing how big this event has become.
Who Is Organising This and Why
The Kerala State Small Industries Association has teamed up with Metromart to organize this event with support from two important government bodies. The Department of Industries and Commerce from Kerala state and the Central Ministry of MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) are backing it. The Ministry of MSME runs special help desks at the event to assist small business owners in finding machinery and financial support.
The event aims to bring global technology and innovation to Kerala’s industrial sector. By showing the latest equipment and machinery from around the world, the organizers hope to attract more industrialists to Kerala and help local small industries grow and compete globally.
What Will You Actually See There
The expo will display around 600 stalls covering diverse sectors like engineering, food processing, chemicals, plastics, oil and gas, rubber, cashew, and agriculture. You will find modern automatic machinery, testing equipment, industrial automation systems, robotics, safety gear, and manufacturing equipment.
A special pavilion dedicated to electric vehicles and green energy is the headline attraction this year. This section will showcase electric two-wheelers, commercial electric vehicles, trucks running on electricity, solar energy systems, wind energy solutions, and other green technologies.
Major EV manufacturers from around India and internationally will display their latest models.
What Happens During the Summit Days
Kerala’s Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the Industrial Mega-Summit on January 17. The Industries and Commerce Minister, P. Rajeev will deliver the main address while Opposition Leader V.D. Satheesan will attend as the chief guest. The Finance Minister, K.N. Balagopal will open the expo on January 16, and Union Minister of State George Kurian will conduct the closing ceremony on January 18.
Beyond just looking at machines and vehicles, there will be seminars, presentations, buyer-seller meetings, and vendor development programs throughout the three days. Banks will set up help desks to provide information on loans for business expansion. The MSME Ministry will operate specialized information counters to guide small business owners. A separate pavilion for startups and panel discussions with media personalities and young political leaders is also planned.
Why This Matters for Kerala and Indian Industry
Over 10,000 industrialists and representatives from all 14 districts of Kerala plus 18 sector-related organizations are expected to attend this industrial summit. The organizers call this the largest industrial exhibition and business summit ever held in Kerala. By bringing together global machinery makers, entrepreneurs, and government support systems, the event aims to boost Kerala’s manufacturing and small industries sectors while connecting local businesses with global technologies and markets.
Entry to the expo is free, making it accessible for anyone interested in exploring industry opportunities or learning about the latest technologies in their sector.
