According to the 2022 Hurun Global 500 list, the United States has risen 17 firms to 260, accounting for 52 percent of the Hurun Global 500 and 65 percent of total value.

According to the 2022 Hurun Global ranking, 20 Indian firms are among the top 500 most valuable in the world.

With 20 enterprises on the list, India jumped from ninth to fifth place. Eleven of these twenty enterprises are headquartered in Mumbai, four in Ahmedabad, and one in Noida, New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Kolkata.

Reliance Industries is the most valuable firm in the world, valued at $202 billion, followed by Tata Consultancy Services at $139 billion and HDFC Bank at $97 billion.

Reliance Industries and Tata Consultancy Services are the only two Indian firms in the top 100 list, ranked 34 and 65, respectively.

China came in second with 35 firms, down 12, followed by Japan with 28, down 2, and the United Kingdom with 21, down 3. According to the survey, India and Canada climbed up to fifth place with 20 firms each, adding 8 and 3 companies, respectively, overtaking France and Germany, who dropped 2 and 4 to 17 and 16, respectively.

In terms of Hurun Global 500 top cities, New York leads the pack with 31, up 3, followed by Tokyo (16, down 1), London (15, down 2), and Paris (13, down 1). Mumbai rose three spots to fifth place on the Hurun Global 500 list of top cities.

According to the research, Adani Group has four new entries with a combined worth of $173 billion: Adani Transmission, Adani Green Energy, Adani Enterprises, and Adani Total Gas.

In terms of the overall report, financial services contributed the most to the Hurun Global 500, accounting for 21 percent or 104 businesses, an increase of 10, headed by United Health Group, Visa, and JP Morgan Chase.

According to the study, 57 energy businesses, up from 20, added $1.2 trillion to the total of $4.1 trillion.

Food and drinks were the only other industry to increase in value by 2%, with Mars, PepsiCo, and McDonald’s each increasing by an average of $20 billion. According to the survey, Iran, Turkey, Poland, Thailand, Israel, and Norway are the greatest nations in terms of GDP that do not have a Hurun Global 500 firm.

Energy was the biggest winner of the year, on back of sharp rise in oil & gas triggered by Russia Ukraine war, overtaking healthcare for second place.
