Rabitat, an Indian babycare brand, has successfully secured ₹40 crore (about $5 million) in a Series A funding round. The funding was led by RPSG Capital Ventures and DSG Consumer Partners, along with a consortium of other investors

The round was done in 2 parts (tranches) and has also seen participation from Capital A, Accurize Syndicate, Flair Writing Family Office, Eagle Venture Fund, AG Ventures, and a number of notable angel investors and startup founders. Some of those founders are from popular brands like The Souled Store, LivSpace and Cult.fit.

Plans for the New Funding

Rabitat intends to use the funds to expand its operations. According to the company, this includes enhancing partnerships with Indian manufacturers and introducing additional products for children. The focus remains on developing items that meet safety standards and align with the needs of Indian families.

About The Brand

Rabitat was founded by brothers Sumit and Siddharth Suneja, and specializes in baby and kids’ products; primarily drinkware and foodware. The products are all BPA-free, non-toxic, and made from globally certified materials. The intention behind the products is to be safe and functional as well as fashionable, so parents have a safe option for their children.

To date, Rabitat’s products have served over two lakh families. The brand has gained traction with Indian parents who are actively looking for quality and safer options in the area of children’s products.

“Over two lakh families have chosen Rabitat, and this funding marks a crucial milestone as we scale up our design capabilities, distribution, and partnerships,” said Sumit Suneja, Co-founder and CEO of Rabitat

A growing Market Opportunity

Rabitat is part of India’s rapidly growing kids’ consumer market, which is estimated to be worth about ₹27,000 crore (about $3.3 billion). As demand for safe, child-friendly products continues to grow, Rabitat plans to become one of the foremost brands in this segment. The brand hopes to grow and expand its market share by providing high-quality, certified products and creating trust with Indian families.

Rabitat’s focus on safety, design, and manufacturing in India will differentiate it from many of its competitors, therefore will position it for success as it scales.

Rabitat, with its recent funding and clear focus on safety, innovation, and localised manufacturing, is strategically positioned to emerge as a leader in the growing kids’ products market in India, making its products relevant to the changing needs of modern families.
