Amit Jain was born on 12th November 1977 in the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan, India. He currently has a net worth of approximately Rs. 2,984 crores. Amit Jain completed his education in Jaipur and was brought up in a simple middle-class family. Amit did his schooling at St. Xavier’s School in Jaipur and graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT) in 1999. 

His mother is a homemaker and his father was an astrologer, who also ran a business of selling medium-priced gemstones. After Amit’s father died of cancer, he along with his brother Anurag Jain left the astrology business and came up with the concept of CarDekho.

Amit Jain after graduating from IIT started his career as a software engineer at Tata Consultancy Services. After that he continued to work at Trilogy, holding the position of Senior Associate along with Delivery Manager and also Product Manager for about 6 years and 11 months. 

Trilogy, a software company, is based in Austin, Texas. Amit Jain returned to India after he found out of his father’s cancer. It was during this time, Amit thought of creating an IT company from his hometown and CarDekho was formed. The rest is just a history glorifying success.

Amit Jain established GirnarSoft in the year 2007, which launched CarDekho in 2008. He co-founded CarDekho with his brother and aimed to steer Google’s traffic toward the website and strategized pathways for the website to rank at top of the search engine. 

The only desire Amit and Anurag had was to make an IT-based million-dollar company and we have been seeing the enormous growth and scalability of CarDekho.

Figures suggest that the company has more than 35 million monthly users, more than 6,000 pre-owned cars sold in a month, and more than 3,000 new cars sold in a month. 

CarDekho received huge funding from Sequoia Capital in 2013 and this attracted several other companies to provide advertisements for CarDekho’s online reach. In 2014, CarDekho acquired Gaddi.com and in 2015, the company acquired ZigWheels. Huge efforts and countless actions for improvement raised CarDekho’s parent company, GirnarSoft to further growth. 

In 2021, CarDekho became a unicorn company with a total valuation of about $ 1.2 billion. This was achieved after a Series E funding that raised about $ 250 million. CarDekho completed about 11 years of grit, hustle, and victory.
